The ideal candidate is a self-proclaimed social networking expert who actively uses Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, Blogs, Discussion Forums and other social platforms. We are looking for someone who knows what is hot now and what is next. The SMM should have a passion for exploring cutting edge social networking platforms and will work with other departments (PR, Design, E-Commerce) to gain a deep understanding of each brand in order to generate content that speaks to the individual brand’s voice. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for professionally representing Dutch brands online. Beyond simply social networking, this person must be a brand steward who has a passion for the fashion industry.
Duties:
• Develop, maintain and evolve strategies to increase the presence for all Dutch LLC brands on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, Blogs, Discussion Forums and other relevant social platforms.
• Optimize day-to-day social media efforts with innovative and newsworthy content, work on calendars, and evaluate analytics and metrics to identify and maximize opportunities.
◦ Work with Marketing Director to develop overall Social Media Strategies and corresponding budgets for each brand.
◦ Work with design, PR and creative teams to understand each brand’s identity in order to develop social content that reflects that identity and sets tone.
◦ Employ social media tools and strategies to gain new followers and fans.
◦ Interact with fashion retailers, editors, and influencers on social media channels to expose all brands to a larger audience.
◦ Increase overall engagement with social followers.
◦ Create a monthly editorial calendar for all content.
◦ Write copy, gather assets and upload content daily.
◦ Conduct influencer/blogger outreach.
◦ Build user interaction to establish a feeling of personal connection to the brand.
◦ Respond to comments and active users.
• Work across departments to ensure proper messaging is being executed online and make sure that content is relevant to organizational goals.
• Support and protect all brands by ensuring positive messaging is maintained in community.
• Establish consistency of message across multiple networks.
• Manage online discussions by listening to users, reading between the lines, and responding in a timely manner to users’ needs and requests.
• Monitor and track discussion topics for management team.
• Prepare reports to update internal staff on usage statistics.
• Source and work with outside coders to build approved platforms, contests, and web pages.
Skills/Qualifications:
• 5+ years professional work experience in digital marketing/social media. Fashion background preferred.
• Strong blogger and influencer contacts.
• Must have exceptional traditional writing and grammatical skills and a flair for using "social networking speak" and online jargon.
• Must have a deep understanding of all social media channels and continually follow updates on new regulations, opportunities, and programs that can benefit the company.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
• Extreme attention to detail and outstanding organization skills.
• Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team full of opinions and ideas.
• Online search expert able to track and monitor postings relevant to the brand.
• Interest in fashion, popular culture and entertainment industries a must.
• Diligent work ethic and insatiable desire to expand skills and be the best.
• College degree required. Preferred studies in liberal arts, journalism or new media.
