The Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for ensuring that VF is able to attract and retain a globally diverse workforce and provide a competitive advantage for the company. This role will lead the definition and execution of the global inclusion strategy to attract, engage and retain a powerfully diverse, talented workforce worldwide and drive a culture of inclusion that unleashes the potential of all our employees in order to drive competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work directly as a member of the Talent Management Center of Expertise to develop and evolve our internal overarching strategies, initiatives and programs with respect to diversity and inclusion. Create understanding and influence actions required.
• Understand business implications of diversity & inclusion and determine the appropriate measures of success that align with business outcomes; actively challenge the status quo to ensure the organization and its leaders understand and act on the imperative.
• Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, where diversity is viewed in the broadest sense - including age, ethnicity, gender, appearance, race, physical abilities, religion, social-economic background, political affiliation, sexual orientation, sexual identity, nationality, thinking styles and life experiences, and so forth.
• Collaborate directly with key senior leaders and HR Business Partners to create commitment to the strategy.
• Understand unique business/geographic challenges and needs to tailor initiatives to effectively enable strategy, driving globally-appropriate solutions that are appropriately consistent at enterprise-level yet fully integrate with local needs and regulatory requirements (e.g., US gov’t needs in USA, Works Councils in Europe, etc.)
• Provide strategic guidance and operational assistance to effectively support leadership accountability.
• Serve as the lead subject matter expert for people across the organization to coach, collaborate and identify targeted areas for collaborative improvement efforts. Work collaboratively with other areas of HR to create tools and materials to support the adoption of practices and behaviors that improve a diverse and inclusive workforce.
• Oversee and coach employee resource groups (affinity groups, forums like Women’s Leadership Summit, etc.).
• Manage external relationships and partnerships. Scan external research and best practices to bring new ideas into the organization.
• All other duties as assigned.
Experience:
• BA/BS Degree in human resources/organizational development/business management or related degree area.
• 10 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in human resources, organizational development, and/or diversity and inclusion.
• Outstanding thought leadership and passion for diversity and inclusion; demonstrated effectiveness leading diversity and inclusion related initiatives and programs in multiple environments.
• Certifications such as SPHR/GPHR are also preferred but not mandatory requirements.
• Proven track record of driving strategic and performance outcomes in D&I.
• At least 3 years’ experience with a large, highly-matrixed corporate environment.

• Strong relationship skills; able to develop "trusted advisor" status at senior management levels to impact and influence decisions and effective actions.
• Excellent project management, analytical and organizational skills.
• Able to work collaboratively and proactively, while balancing a variety of priorities and workload.
• Able to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong experience working effectively within a matrixed environment and building alignment in a cross functional and team environment.
• Change management, team leadership, and knowledge of factors that influence human behaviors and decision-making at the individual, group, and organizational level.
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of business strategy.
• Demonstrated experience using facts and analytics to understand trends and develop solutions that lead to measurable impact on an organization.
• Bring awareness to business units around the competitive benefits to having diverse and inclusive teams.
• Enhance diversity and inclusion in the workforce to support the strategic growth of the company.
• Contribute to and help manage global diversity initiatives.
• Routinely meet with Women in Leadership teams and other D&I action teams to assure goals are aligned with business goals.
• Mentor HR professionals or selected stakeholders as necessary.
Comment:
Up to 25-30% overnight travel may be required, to both domestic and international locations.
