Ralph Lauren Corporation seeks an experienced Senior Director of Finance to provide financial process management and analysis for the Wholesale Ready-To-Wear business. This individual would be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and month end close activities, providing accurate reporting and analytical updates to Finance, divisional and senior leadership for two discrete brands for the Americas Wholesale region.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic financial professional with the ability to multi-task with a high degree of analytical proficiency and organizational skills. This position requires good foundational knowledge and experience in finance/accounting and a firm understanding of Wholesale/Retail financial concepts. Candidates with a proven history of proactively driving preservation of gross profit, operating expense efficiencies and process improvement are preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Vice President of Finance in leading full P&L forecasting, budgeting and reporting processes for Women’s Lauren/Polo Americas Wholesale
• Track performance metrics and proactively analyze and assess business opportunities to drive operational and financial performance.
• Support month end close process including variance analyses, PPV and Inventory
• Review monthly expense results with functional leaders; act as the lead finance business partner for cost center expense management and establish a track record of clear communication and sound follow up
• Collaborate with the functional leaders to develop monthly forecasts, specifically senior planning and sales leadership to assess and analyze retail performance metrics
• Prepare related analyses for monthly and quarterly business reviews, annual budgets and long range strategic plans; prepare related presentations for senior management and provide insightful analysis.
• Support decision making and provide guidance for Capital requests and other investment decisions; develop related ROI analyses
• Identify trends, highlight issues and address problems to drive proactive financial management.
• Support and prepare ad hoc analyses and special projects for Corporate and senior leadership
• Anticipate needs of business partners and prioritize efforts to deliver results.
• Establish and maintain strong business partnerships across divisional finance teams to promote teamwork and organizational alignment including sharing best practices across divisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Finance or Accounting or MBA
• Retail and/or Wholesale industry experience and knowledge are critical
• 8-10 years work experience in a fast paced environment in an analytical capacity (FP&A in a multinational company preferred)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Well organized with an ability to manage tasks efficiently.
• Proven leadership ability, as well as strength in building internal partnerships.
• Must demonstrate ability to positively influence results and collaborate cross functionally.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including deadline-sensitive priorities.
• Flexibility in adjusting and reprioritizing in order to meet changing needs in a fast-paced work environment
• Team player possessing a strong work ethic and drive for results.
• Systems experience with SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, a plus
• Advanced competency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
