PURPOSE:
Establish and evolve the design direction for assigned category/product line to meet the Brands goals and maintain leadership in the sporting goods industry. Direct and inspire the team to achieve annual business objectives and targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish, maintain and nurture the design direction within assigned categories/sports, communicating with Global Design counterparts.
• Manage and foster creativity within the design team to ensure that the company creates and manufactures products that meet the needs of consumers and customers.
• Motivate, manage and prepare the design team with the goal to maintain leadership in the sporting goods industry.
• Ensure continuous exchange of relevant design information between the CCS and H.Q. Find more synergies within the ranges.
• Shift focus towards innovation (innovate to perform) within the design group in CCS.
• Set clear objectives, monitor progress, offer help and critique for the design centers and their teams.
• Work closely with Marketing and Development to establish and drive key strategies, concepts and projects.
Coordinate apparel and footwear design efforts to create synergies, merchandising opportunities and marketing concepts.
• Coordinate input for color direction in coordination with the responsible person for the brand’s seasonal color palette
• Represent the companies design philosophy and – direction to internal and external partners, other industries
• Manage direct reports (objective setting, assessments, training and development) in cooperation with HR partners.
• Supervise budget

• Profound textile, graphic, apparel design knowledge, credible expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or MA in Fashion design/ Sport Performance design/ Accessories design or comparable education
• Eight (8) years progressive experience in Apparel/Footwear design industry, three (3) years at the managerial level.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
