The Global Merchandising Operations Manager drives merchandising analytics for Crocs, the industry-leading casual footwear brand specializing in comfortable, fun, innovative and irreverent product lines, designed to surprise and delight our millions of loyal Crocs fans and future Crocs fans. The Global Merchandising Operations Manager is responsible for managing the scope and setting the strategic direction of various operational and data initiatives in the Merchandising Organization. This position provides leadership, project coordination, and management of analytics to service current and future business needs to achieve brand and revenue goals, sales growth, and profit maximization through a consumer-centric focus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret business intelligence and clearly communicate the pulse of the business.
• Provide recommendations to inform business opportunities and product strategy.
• Standardize and distribute analytics related to the development, merchandising, and performance of product.
• Work cross-functionality to identify long-term solutions in order to construct and maintain a robust analytics infrastructure for the Merchandising Organization.
• Focus on interpretation of product KPI including, but not limited to: Product Lifecycle, Historical Performance, Style Productivity & Profitability, and Segmentation.
• Oversee updates and timely maintenance of current and standardized reports.
• Build and maintain a formal process to manage and execute ad-hoc reporting requests.
CROSS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
• Facilitate and lead discussion during the monthly product performance review with Regional Merchants.
• Develop a periodic and outward facing communication from the Merchandising Organization that informs the rest of the company on current events, upcoming milestones and goals within Merchandising.
• Act as key department liaison with finance organization
• Drive alignment with the Merchandising Finance team in the 3 year planning process that incorporates key drivers informed by the Merchandising organization.
• Meet regularly with Merchandising Finance to ensure that goals are being provided with regional input each season.
• Work with Regional Merchandising teams to ensure all tools required are provided for the timely execution of pre-season forecasts.
• Engage and participate in the Planning and IBP processes.
MILESTONE MANAGEMENT
• Drive the publication and maintenance of the GTM calendar.
• Oversee the timely execution and delivery of sales samples to all regional teams, and drive time, cost and process improvements.
• Work with merchandising leadership to issue agendas for each milestone.
• Develop content for MLU sessions when relevant at milestone meetings.
• Distribute initial milestone communication and any updates to key stakeholders.
SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
Centric PLM
• Work with Centric team to integrate planning and the Merchandising plan functionality into Centric:drives creation and maintenance of the merchandise plan view each season,constructs and maintains margin mapping tools to support PCT with line build and briefs.
• Drive additional technical solutions through the merchandising team, including use of 3D.
• Work with Centric team to complete user acceptance testing.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate must possess an inherent interest in consumer goods and have the analytical ability to forecast trends and interpret complex data sets accordingly.
• College or University degree
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in merchandising, forecasting, analytics and/or business intelligence; footwear experience preferred
• Experience in analytics and reporting required.
• Proven ability to solve problems and work through challenges both independently and as a part of a team.
• Must be highly proficient in Excel; experience with SAP, Centric 8 preferred
• Demonstrated experience and success with strategic planning and business planning
• Proven ability to successfully drive results in a highly cross-functional global matrix environment
• Knowledge of international consumer goods trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts
• Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Fluent in English
