Overview
Foot Locker, Inc., the world's leading retailer of athletically inspired shoes and apparel, is seeking a driven, collaborative and engaged Director, North America Field Capability. The Director, North America Field Capability will play a central role in developing a retail training strategy to meet an ever-growing mix of strategic sales objectives. He/She will report into HR, but partner with the Heads of Sales Operations, Divisional HR Leaders, RVPs, HRDs, and DMs, and will assist in the execution of training strategies. He/she will serve as an in-house resource on training practices and implement a high quality consistent training design, curriculum and approach. The location of where the Director, North America Field Capability will work out of is open.
Responsibilities
• Increase cross-divisional collaboration on training to better leverage and effectively utilize resources, time, and budget
• Define metrics for analyzing and evaluating training effectiveness
• Evaluate and recommend “best training practices” and implement across divisions.
• Identify and assign subject matter experts to establish the curriculum for specific training segments.
• Assess and decide on best training methods for retail locations (classroom, e-learning, experiential learning, on-the-job, self-study, gamification, etc)
• Increase standardization and consistency in new employee orientation, onboarding, sales training, and DMIT identification,
• Design and develop “Soft Skills” content and curriculum targeted for frontline employees
• Develop training strategy for rolling out new B.I. sales tool for applying new data insights to better decision making and store training on opportunities to increase performance
• Utilize instructional design experience, knowledge of retail and the training function to design and create a variety of learning solutions to support strategic business initiatives and provide effective learning solutions that enhance NA field capability.
Qualifications
• Ideally, 5-7 years of retail training experience
• Instructional design experience
• Demonstrate proven experience in managing multiple priorities and projects
• Person must be able to interact with senior management, global employees, and Foot Locker banners in a positive manner
• 4-year college degree required and prior experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced MS Office 2010 Suite
• Demonstrated capability, knowledge and passion utilizing software and technology in the work place
• Must be a team player/customer focused with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Must have ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks with strong follow through
• Candidate must possess a strong work ethic, initiative and be self-motivated
• Must have the ability to work well in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines
