JOB DESCRIPTION
This Summer you could have the opportunity to work for one of Levi Strauss & Co.’s iconic brands! Our San Francisco-based Summer Internship opportunities, among the Levi’s® and Dockers® brands, give students real world work experience and exposure to one of the world’s leading fashion and apparel companies. Our 10 week Summer Internship Program is the perfect way to gain work experience within the core of the organization, while learning what a career at LS&Co. might have in store for you.
At LS&Co. we believe that clothes — and how they’re made — can make a difference. Since 1853, we’ve been obsessed with innovation to meet people’s needs. We invented the first blue jean and we reinvented khaki pants. We pioneered labor and environmental guidelines for our manufacturing partners and we work to build sustainability into everything we do. A company doesn’t last 160 years by standing still. It endures by reinventing itself, striving to delight its consumers, winning in the marketplace, and by remaining true to its values. We employ more than 17,000 people around the world – supporting great brands, including Levi’s®, Dockers® and Denizen®. Our employees are committed to innovation, creativity and collaboration. Put simply, if you’re looking for a new opportunity, this is a great place to grow your career.
The Global Retail organization serves as a center of excellence within LS&Co. and in this role you will work closely with senior executives to manage the retail innovation roadmap and help define the future in store experience. You will partner with regional leaders to identify, structure, and deliver integrated analyses on business initiatives in support of the organizations long term strategy and act as key thought partner to the Global Retail Leadership team.
In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, all interns will participate in an intern group project dedicated to a critical business initiative as well as be exposed to all areas of our business and our brands. Leadership seminars and career exploration series connect our interns to our leaders and educate around different career paths. Interns performance will be assessed using our internal review process.
Primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
• Act as an ongoing thought partner and deliver rigorous, integrated analyses of external marketplace dynamics and key internal business initiatives
• Understand competitive landscape and key global marketplace dynamics
• Construct complex financial and operational analyses and communicate insights to stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations to senior management around strategic evaluations, proposals and recommendations
• Develop expertise on retail industry, retail innovation and next-generation shopping technologies
Requirements for the Internship:
• Experience in developing and analyzing business strategies and managing and executing projects and processes across business functions
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to use data to frame, dissect and solve problems—requires quantitative strength and an ability to logically ‘connect the dots’
• Highly proficient in Excel; experience building financial and sensitivity models
• Exceptional communication skills; proficiency in Powerpoint with ability to craft presentations of key insights developed from analytical work
• Comfort managing a project independently; highly organized and detail-oriented
