Title: Design Assistant - Color
Reports to: Designer for Color/Print
Objective: To work with Designer to develop strong and balanced color palettes for each delivery.
Creative Responsibilities:
• Maintain tears and other inspiration in creative format that can be utilized to explain vision for direction of color.
• Contribute and participate in trend meetings for each season, focusing on presentation of color palette.
• Locally source yarns and fabrics that can be included in color library.
• Constantly dye new colors for both solid colors and possible wash effects that can be incorporated into individual styles.
• Create individual color palettes for each style utilizing and balancing master palette.
• Participate in creation of all solid color palettes while maintaining calendar dates.
• Making approvals on all solid labdips through PDM.
• Maintain strong partnerships with all teams including design, production and merchandising.
• Attend and be vocal participant in all design meetings as required.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
• Special projects as needed.
• Travel as needed.
Requirements:
• Background in textiles preferred, but looking primarily for someone with a great eye for color.
• Textiles or Fibers degree is prefered.
• Stong interest in Fashion is requited.
