Description
As a Production Manager in the America’s Liaison Office, you will play a key role in the successful execution of Nike’s business with external factory partners. You will manage Nike’s manufacturing relationship with a subset of factories in the region and oversee a small team of Production Analysts to that end.
Key responsibilities include the following areas:
Planning / Capacity Managemet:
You will work between our factory partners and our internal planning teams to build and maintain annual/monthly/weekly production capacity plans that are achievable and effectively utilized. You will work with suppliers as demand and supply conditions change to meet Nike’s requirements. You will work with your team to ensure the factory receives clear planning signals and order information and clarify across systems / functions as required. And, you will work with your team to monitor and reflect changes in factory production plans / delivery dates.
Issue Management:
As any issues occur within the factory or between Nike and the factory, you will work to understand the issue, communicate appropriately to Nike, bring in functional experts as required and prescribe solutions and track to the point of resolution.
Performance Management / Capability Development:You will be the point person responsible for consolidating and assessing the overall performance of suppliers you are managing as it relates to key performance indicators (KPI’s) of delivery, cost, quality and compliance/sustainability. In conjunction with factory management teams and internal functional teams, you will be responsible for identifying underlying issues and creating action plans for improvement of KPIs over time. This will be managed through a Quarterly Business Review process which you will facilitate.
Likewise, you will take point with factories under management to transition new business and develop new capabilities – new products under development, new supply chain or manufacturing models, etc – as required by the business.
Factory Liaison: Finally, you will function generally as a liaison between factory and Nike, which could include the following type of scenarios:
◦ Give access to and help facilitate meetings between factory and Nike business units / functions
◦ Get input from and communicate factory feedback around Nike’s manufacturing / planning policies and processes
◦ Keep leadership informed of significant developments that occur in factory, factory organization, or manufacturing country of origin that could impact Nike’s business
◦ Advocate for factory internally as appropriate
◦ Communicate and execute corrective action plans as appropriate
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field and minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience
• Knowledge of, experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred; experience in other related areas of planning/forecasting, merchandising, development, purchasing, pricing/costing, logistics, warehousing or other operations required
• Apparel / textile experience preferred
• Project management experience a plus
• Experience managing a team a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel (pivot tables/reporting), required
• Experience with SAP, JBA, PDM and Brio is preferred
• Experience using a capacity planning system is preferred
• Global perspective, experience working with other cultures is preferred
• Spanish speaking skills are a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong results orientation, bias for action and attention to detail

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
