Sr. Brand Manager, Global Marketing

Job Summary:
Responsible for leading brand management for professional hair category of the open line brands. Design role will involve setting and executing the strategy for the Clairol Professional and Wella Open Line brands (1/3 of total OPI Salon hair business), development and introduction of new initiatives (both products and commercial), and all the go-to-market elements setting up the business for smooth execution and delivering both overall business goals and booklet goals Additionally, core focus would be to truly understand the beauty business and trends that will enable business keep hand on the pulse.
Essential Functions:
• Develop and execute brand vision, strategies and long and short term initiative master plan to deliver short and long term business goals
• Design and lead initiatives in the masterplan to drive sales. Develop toolboxes of materials both for base business and initiatives to drive sales through awareness, trial and successful repeat on products.
• Lead and collaborate with x-function team (R&D, Product Supply, Education, Sales and Finance) to deliver winning plans and BIC execution for the business
• Own the business (understand the sales trends, customer trends and all the elements affecting the business) to drive right choices and action driving topline and bottom line. Quarterly update the leadership on business results and actions taken.
• Analyze SKU performance & provide SKU rationalization recommendation to management team
• Drive early engagement and collaborate with Delivery Team on initiatives to ensure execution with excellence – manage Fit-To-Win (FTW) requirement from the market and core customers, incorporate core FTW into initiatives, Manage Brand Planning process up to Pre-Table To and ensure smooth hand over to delivery team
• Create. Manage and ensure discipline in executing Brand equity and Vis ID
• Manage brand budget within corporate processes and procedures.
• Own P&L
• Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing or similar discipline)
• 5+ years’ experience in brand management
• Proficient computer knowledge – MS Word, Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint
• Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership and consistent collaboration across Delivery, multi-functional teams and customer teams is critical to driving engagement in and alignment to strategies and executions. This person will need to lead team thinking to set the vision and strategy to help shape IMP and drive regional alignment. This person will also need to demonstrate the ability to Energize, Engage and Enable the team to deliver with excellence on long lead innovation, GTM strategies and plans. And in result create a high functioning team.
• Strategic Thinking / Innovates for Growth: POLO is a mature business with one major customer. This individual will need to evaluate the market, create and execute strategy to win with top customers. Based on the set strategy, the person needs to seek out new ideas and collaborate with broader Salon Design team to influence innovation pipeline early, as well as reapply assets to drive efficient brand support and joint value for top customers.
• Marketing Mastery and Executional Excellence: This role will be responsible for designing robust innovation plan and help shape Go-To-Market plans and strategies. This will require 1) Demonstrated marketing expertise in creating big ideas that deliver on target insights, benefit and brand equity. 2) Creating communication idea and execution path that is set to win across digital and FMOT, 3) Developing assets that bring big idea to life to set up business for growth. All on time, on budget and with excellence.
• Solutions Focused Mindset/Analytical Skills / Acting With Agility: The North America Salon Professional business is constantly evolving and changing with new competitors, product forms and internal processes. The ideal candidate will be able to stay focused on the key priorities to bring solutions to drive distribution/grow consumption, but be able to adapt quickly to a changing landscape. This also means that the role requires identifying and communicating the key drivers and trends of the POLO business in North America. The ABM will need to have a strong understanding of business analytics and demonstrate experience in business reporting.
• Passion for Beauty: Stylists and DIY consumers are passionate about beauty and changing trends, to keep up with what’s going on. Both of the groups are entrenched in the broader beauty culture, not only in hair, but also in fashion, celebrity, and pop culture and be able to translate their inspiration into action. The person needs to be beauty curious and stay in touch with the industry and broader pop culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA degree
• Beauty industry experience
Work Environment:
• Work will be conducted in a standard office environment with associated distractions such as noise from telephones, keyboards, talking, paging systems, machinery and equipment. Temperatures are regulated by facilities management and are not within the direct control of the individual.
• Exposure to standard chemicals used in an office environment is expected and includes but is not limited to toner, glue and liquid paper, etc. Additionally, the incumbent may be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process of nail lacquers, lotions, etc.
