Graphic Designer - PVH Corp.
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for generating innovative packaging solutions that compliment our distinct and exclusive brands across all retail environments. You will be challenged to create, execute and deliver artwork for a wide range of projects.
A perfect candidate must have a strong understanding of creating technical construction artwork and have experience in how packaging is used in a retail environment. In addition to packaging design, this position will also be responsible for concept through execution of many deliverables including but not limited to woven/paper trims, sales materials, marketing collateral and other design projects under the direction of the Director of Creative Services. This position will be expected to effectively interface with multiple departments throughout the organization including external customers.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for executing the design of trim and packaging materials such as box art, hangers, paper/woven components, hang tags, bellybands across multiple fashion brands.
• Responsible for creating print ready construction artwork and ensuring the technical correctness of all files.
• Ability to construct in-house prototype samples and mock-ups to test packaging concepts prior to development.
• Learn multiple brand standards and ensure that work executed is of the best quality and meets the specific standards for each of those brands. Proactively gain an in depth understanding of customers’ businesses in order to understand their constraints and perspective to better anticipate their packaging needs.
• Assist with Sales presentations and the development of display boards.
• Use of InDesign to work on product catalogs, brochures and packaging assembly guides.
• Must be able to interface with multiple departments and effectively communicate all related information with the creative team.
• Research and stay current on industry trends, technology and materials.
• Meet deadlines as specified and accurately follow directions.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience:
Minimum 2 to 4 years related graphic design and packaging experience.
Education: 4-year degree in related field or two years post high school education from a technical school or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of digital packaging artwork preparation. This includes the use of die lines, score/folds, proper dimensioning, color/material specifications and special feature call outs.
• Strong knowledge of the core aesthetics of design such as typography, use of color and composition while having the ability to grasp packaging needs and produce practical solutions.
• Understanding of the printing process including proper preparation of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign files for production.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on file accuracy, consistency and quality execution.
• Works well under the pressure of tight deadlines and can multi-task several projects at various stages of development.
• Ability to work in a fast paced team driven environment.
• Integrity and personal accountability of their work is a must.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills will be needed to thrive in this position.
• Advanced in all Adobe Creative Suite programs (Illustrator, InDesign, & Photoshop) as well Acrobat.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
