The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for executing the MRP production plan as determined by the Supply Chain Organization in accordance with Internal Manufacturing capacities and resources. This includes procuring all externally sourced components (sundries), ordering all internally made components (castings/sub-assemblies, stampings) and creating work orders in a timely manner, to support plant's on time delivery and inventory goal.
Responsibilities
• Review and process MRP messages for Purchased, Manufactured Components and sub-assemblies to support the assigned process family. This includes both internal suppliers and external vendor contact/management.
• Issue *OP purchase orders to subcontract Suppliers.
• Review and process MRP messages for Component / Finished Good work orders based on an established MPS from Cumberland Management and the Supply Chain Organization. This includes monitoring the consistent flow of materials from procurement through manufacturing and shipping.
• Team with Shop Floor Management on a daily basis to ensure the production plan and goal of 92% OTD is carried out by means of being present on the shop floor.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and disposition the slow moving inventory report on a monthly basis.
• Ensure data integrity of all product information.
• Build partnerships within and across departments to promote efficiency and create a supportive work environment
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years experience in Purchasing and/or Production Planning
• MRP-System experience in a Supply Chain Manufacturing Organization
• Strong background in a Lean-Flow Manufacturing environment
• Strong mathematical and organizational skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
• APICS Certification or currently pursuing
• Knowledge of JD Edwards business system
• Ability to develop/enforce policies and procedures
