PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE:
The Director of Creative Design Operations is responsible for supporting Executive Director and Package Design Team overseeing all design department operations including project management, work flow, comping and artwork, timetables and budget to optimize our creativity and productivity.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Manage programs, work flow and schedule for Creative Programs ensuring projects are being managed properly and on time based upon volume, deadlines and priorities.
• Manage Package Design budget
• Inform Team and external departments of potential budget or scheduling problems. Provide suggested solutions and options.
• Manage the designer’s work load to ensure projects are well distributed and prioritized
• Issued revised timetables and supplemental estimates when program changes impact dates and costs
• Manage Comps which includes Marketing and China Registration requests. Supervise the production, schedules, timing and details with the Package Design team and cross-functional partners.
• Liaison with Team Center to clearly establish priorities, ensuring art is on brand, guidelines are followed and timely review.
• Collaborating with Creative, Visual Merchandising, Package development, Product Development and other cross-functional departments to ensure alignment and continuity of projects.
• Studio management – optimization of our space and storage, supplies, computers etc
• Ensure design validation is being issued on timely basis
• Ensure DTO’s, Design Turn Over documents are being issued correctly and on timely basis. These documents
are detailed specifications for all multi-disciplinary parties to follow for the development of the packaging.
• Hire/manage freelancers/contract help
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in an Operational management role, BA or BFA degree
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Extensive comping experience
• Knowledge of print/production/package production
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - Mac/Illustrator/Photoshop and MS software including excel
• Self-motivated, organized and able to multi-task under pressure in fast paced environment.
• Strong planning skills, detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines and manage work load effectively
• Must have keen eye for color and form to ensure that comps are made to spec.
