The Men's Merchandising Assortment Analyst Intern is located at our Home office in Sunderland, VT. This position will work in men's merchandising department and will help build an overview of the optimal Men's merchandise assortment mix. The Assortment Analyst Intern will be responsible for building matrix templates in three key areas: Overall assortment, Subcategories, and Promotions. The overall goal of this internship project will be to analyze and manage assortments to maximize sales and eliminate undesired redundancy so we can ensure the right product is brought to market
The position reports directly to the Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM), Mens and will interface on a daily or routine basis with members of the Men's Merchandising team.
Responsibilities Include:
• Work with Omni-Channel Analyst and Product Developers to divide assortments in the correct matrix buckets.
• Gather data and analyze results to create a matrix reporting template.
• Build Assortment, Subcat, and Promotional Matrix overviews with supporting graphical data.
• Market research on competitive assortments specifically on the Subcat level.
Qualifications Required:
• Currently working towards or successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising related field.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to gather, analyze and interpret data and communicate the results of the analysis in a consistent and digestible format.
• Motivated and Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including strong skills in Excel and basic understanding of Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
Internship Outline:
The Orvis and Scientific Angler Internships are a 12 week, paid experience between May and September. All positions are a 40 hour per week position between Monday and Friday. Housing is not included but we can assist Interns in finding reasonable accommodations that may fit within an Intern budget. Interns will also need reliable transportation.
