The Facilities Store Support Intern is located at our Operations Service Center (OSC) location in Roanoke, Virginia. This positions will assist the Facilities Manager in gathering, archiving and processing information associated with providing repair, maintenance, and supply support to the Retail and Outlet stores, including asset listings, recurring maintenance contracts, regulatory compliance inspection schedules, store drawings, utilities service, and related information.
The position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and will interface on a daily or routine basis with members of the Retail Alignment Team, Liquidations Alignment Team and Operations Service Center staff. The intern will also have contact with external vendors.
Responsibilities Include:
• Complete and validate assets database for each store and outlet and confirm documented contracts.
• Complete and validate Responders database for stores repairs and maintenance.
• Evaluate inventory of store drawings and other important documents and work with the Facilities manager to complete all records.
• Confirm mandatory compliance inspections are scheduled at each facility and at the proper intervals and validate all information for maintenance contractors.
• Assist the Facilities Manager in documentation of procedures and reports associated with repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications Required:
• Currently working towards or successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or closely related field of study.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers with a strong emphasis on Customer Service Skills, preferably in a Retail, Restaurant, or call center environment.
• Desired career in facilities, operations, or retail management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook. As well as MS Access or similar database management tool.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Experience working with preventive maintenance services as well as construction or trade is a plus.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management system) and 5s, Six Sigma, or similar program are a plus.
Internship Outline:
The Orvis and Scientific Angler Internships are a 12 week, paid experience between May and September. All positions are a 40 hour per week position between Monday and Friday. Housing is not included but we can assist Interns in finding reasonable accommodations that may fit within an Intern budget. Interns will also need reliable transportation.
