Embedded in teams across the company, strategy professionals serve as critical thought partners to our senior leaders to explore complex business issues; conduct consumer, competitive and market analyses; create financial models and develop action plans to galvanize our teams.
Converse is looking for a Strategic Planning Director North America at our WHQ in Boston. This role is a key member of our North America leadership team. In this role, you will independently lead cross-functional project teams to identify and evaluate critical strategic priorities and/or strategic problems, and catalyze action against these priorities through strategic and long-range business planning and performance management.
Responsibilities
Plan at the Sales and Brand level, and work with business units/functions to ensure objectives are aligned and integrated
• Lead the process of developing strategic initiatives and objectives for the current year and the 3-year Strategic plan for the North America region
• Identify relevant measures and drive accountability for on-going performance against business and strategic objectives by preparing for and help leading business review process
Catalyze action by leading project work streams that turn strategic priorities and initiatives into executable plans
Lead and qualitative analytical work that unlocks business insights and drives sound decision-making on key business issues
Develop and communicate strategic plans, scorecards and business solutions through high-impact, executive level presentations
Qualifications
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree, MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred
• Minimum of 8-10 years' total experience (5 years' experience post MBA) in corporate development, business development, corporate strategic planning, investment banking, management consulting, finance or related fields
• Two additional years' experience in lieu of an advanced degree
• Previous management consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm is highly preferred
• Strategy development experience with global-consumer enterprises (including internal and/or consulting) is highly preferred
• Project Management: Effectively plan and tightly manage the scope and lifecycle of a project while balancing multiple constituencies
• Strategic Framing, Scoping and Problem Solving: Desire to get beyond the abstract and general to deliver rigorous, nuanced and actionable recommendations; Proven ability to deliver insightful data analysis & synthesis that uncovers consumer and market opportunities
• Interpersonal/Influence: Align senior leaders and key stakeholders through excellent interpersonal skills, high EQ, and persuasion
• Financial / Quantitative Analysis: Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models; Technical and corporate finance and valuation skills
• Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and coach a diverse, world-class team that is empowered to bring the best of themselves to work every day
• Soft lines or consumer focused industry experience a must
• Affinity with consumer goods and branded fashion
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
