About the Team
The Product Photography and Styling team is committed to creating and delivering high quality product photography for the best client experience. We collaborate internally with our Merchandising, Design, Marketing and Creative teams in order to successfully deliver beautifully styled on-figure, video, wall pin-up and lay down images. About the Role
As the Freelance Assistant Photographer, you will enter into a partnership with the Product Photography and Styling team providing support to the Minx and Editorial photography teams while working in a high volume e commerce style photo studio. You will assist photographers and digitechs with basic studio setup and maintenance. As a shared resource, you will have daily responsibilities but will also remain on-call for both photography departments throughout the day.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
• Assist in basic studio setup, 8:30am to 9:30 M-F, mount and check cameras for settings etc., turn on lights and computers.
• Help maintain set cleanliness and organization. Return unused items to their proper storage.
• Assist stylists (occasionally) in preparing products for photo shoots.
• Organize equipment storage area.
• Support team as required, light administrative functions.
• Assist in new equipment onboarding: testing, asset tagging etc.
• Assist in basic studio breakdown, 5:00 to 5:30 M-F, shutting down powered equipment, removing and storing cameras and other valuable equipment.
• Work in an environment that fosters continuous growth and development.
We’re excited about you because…
• You have 1+ years commercial photography assisting experience in a high-volume production studio.
• You have a professional photography portfolio that demonstrates an intermediate-level knowledge of digital photography, including lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics across an array of client environments.
• You have intermediate knowledge of all stages of the photography process & tools including in Digital Photography, Canon camera, Profoto or Broncolor lighting systems and traditional grip practice.
• You are a quick problem solver with a proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• You are self-driven and able to effectively communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a multi-team environment.
• You have excellent communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written.
• You must be able to lift 25lbs.
• You thrive in high-volume, fast-paced and feedback driven environments.
• You’re highly self-motivated, have a stellar work ethic and you’re looking for the right company to support your growth.
