Summary:
The Inbound Area Manager is responsible for leading a team of leaders to perform all functions related to Inbound Warehousing operations. Areas of responsibility include Inbound, Returns, Put-away, Shipping, Yard Management, and Special Events. The Leader oversees all Inbound and Special Events functions as well as cross training, planning, and execution of critical business functions throughout the year. This leader is also responsible for leading process improvement, safety, quality, cost improvement, leadership development, training, attendance, and accountability for the site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicates and networks with track partners to ensure incoming freight is received, transferred in, and put away on time and accurate.
• Oversees all Inbound Receiving/Returns/Put Away and Special Events operations in the building to ensure execution of each to a high standard of safety, quality, timeliness, and cost.
• Leads Small Parcel Shipping and Yard Maintenance; Ensuring the Yard and trailer pool are safe, clean, organized, and recorded in detail.
• Partners with OB Area Manager to ensure all building goals are met and maintained.
• Implements, executes, and tracks a measureable quality program to ensure inbound injection errors are addressed and accountability is upheld.
• Ensure all time cards are accurate and approved weekly.
• Works with Sr. Operations manager to plan and ensure operations excellence in the FC.
• Collaborates with all FC Operational leadership to improve processes and lower cost at the FC.
• Conducts monthly one on one development statuses with direct reports to grow leadership talent.
• Drives accountability to policy and procedure as set by the company.
• Drives a safety and quality culture in the building to measurable standards.
• Ensures 5s and 4m standards are in place and maintained.
• Drives communication and labor movement between departments to ensure all deadlines are met on available workload.
• Ensures on-boarding and training for new hires.
• Ensures barriers are addressed for leaders in the FC Operation in a timely manner and escalated to Sr. Ops for support.
• Ensures cross training matrix is current and accurate to fill business needs throughout the year.
• Ensures all time off requests are approved timely, escalated to HR, given to Sr. Ops, and no more than 10% per department are approved per day
• Ensures FC Roster is current and accurate.
• Performs additional tasks as directed by the Sr. Operations Manager.
Education and experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in warehouse leadership and operations.
• Supervisory experience of at least 5 years.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Punctual, self-starter with a good eye for detail, and a willingness to work.
• Must have solid computer skills.
• Ability to lead leaders to grow in their development and drive for self-development.
• Ability to speak in front the team and deliver a clear message.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and follow written and oral instruction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Up to 100 associates.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to regularly lift & control 50lbs. up to shoulder height.
• Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move continuously in the facility.
Work Environment:
• Standard warehouse environment with daily outside exposure within the yard.
