Primary Accountabilities:
• Determine, execute and implement marketing strategies, plans and tools in the most relevant way for the EMEA market while ensuring consistency with Smartwool’s global vision and objectives.
• Drive brand development and sales growth in accordance with global marketing & sales strategy and Smartwool EMEA five year strategic plan.
• Analyze results and provide fully comprehensive reports of Smartwool Marketing activities throughout EMEA.
BUDGET
• Develop annual budget proposals and expenditure allocation plans; in accordance with the Marketing strategy and allocated budget.
• Maximise every single investment towards the brand objectives.
• Regularly analyze and review allocation of marketing budget to ensure results are achieved efficiently.
• Monitor and report budget on a monthly basis, and be positioned to readily identify spent, committed, and planned status at all times.
IN-STORE
• Significantly improve visual presence of Smartwool brand within key accounts, increasing coverage, upgrading quality perception and reflecting brand positioning and differentiation from competitors.
• Provide comprehensive POS support package, liaising with Sales team and, when relevant, key accounts.
• Execute a method for planning fixture buys on a seasonal basis and manage spend per country and Key Account.
GRASSROOTS
• Identify and engage in at least one event per year that enables Smartwool to engage with target consumers and also aligns with Smartwool characteristics and Brand Promise.
• Set up event, port all Branding elements to event, liase with participants for seeding.
• Ensure communication of event to all Smartwool EMEA countries, liaise with Smartwool US HQ to maximize exposure, develop cost effective way to maximize publicity.
• In collaboration with sales agents, review and determine if Smartwool should participate in small, localized events.
• Manage all aspects of Smartwool EMEA events and special projects; conceptual creation, logistical processes, legal implications, third party partnerships, implementation and follow up.
MEDIA & PR
• Create Smartwool EMEA media plan. Negotiate best possible rates, positioning and editorial support with media partners.
• Develop phasing of Media and PR activities for key categories – from teasing to launch.
• Manage PR agencies (if applicable).
• Develop creative digital and social media initiatives to better connect with our consumers.
• Potentially develop Smartwool EMEA web site in collaboration with Smartwool HQ.
• Manage and produce Smartwool seasonal workbook.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.
• Marketing Degree; Bachelor or Master level
• Some Marketing management experience
• Passion for the outdoors (in any capacity/activity) and drive to enable people to do more of what they love outside for longer
• Passion for Brand-building
• Analytical Skills: Thinking critically, logically and constructively about significant problems. Examining questions from a broad standpoint - not just from one angle. Being able to suggest solutions to problems and recommended courses of action.
• Language skills: Fluent in English and one other language. German, French and/or Italian a plus.
