Business Unit Summary
As part of the Cornerstone Brands Digital Commerce team, the Digital Release Manager will collaborate and coordinate with both technical and business teams, including Web Operations, Applications Development, QA, Product Management, and stakeholders from multiple brands sharing a common code base. He or she manages schedules, plans on-going activities across multiple environments, and coordinates the migration and deployment of code releases to pre-production and production environments. This is a hands-on role, in charge of coordinating code releases in both a Waterfall and Agile fashion.
A Day in the Life
For Releases
• Builds, maintains, and communicates environment migration calendars, schedules, and change logs, tracking all updates made to each pre-production environment for multiple brands on a common code base.
• Manages (in partnership with the Web Operations team) each code drop that is supplied by the Development team.
• Develops the release implementation plans for all releases, ensuring all changes are properly documented.
• Schedules review meetings with applicable parties to cover the production release/implementation plan.
• Works with QA leads to schedule and facilitate all phases of testing.
• Works with the Product Management team to understand all projects within a code release.
• Obtains business sign-offs for the implementation of system releases to their planned environments.
• Manages the Change Request (CR) process, including getting approval signatures for work items.
• Ensures proper communication of code release levels in all environments, as well the content/changes included in all releases.
• Partners with Web Operations to ensure environment readiness prior to all code drops in pre-production, as well as production environments.
• Provides post-implementation support for emergency fixes and updates.
• Communicates status and completion of all production releases to technical and business leadership, including hot-fixes and resolution of issues.
For Defects
• Attends all bug prioritization meetings with Development, QA and Product Management.
• Identifies and schedules the proper environment for multiple parallel streams of development, including bug fixes, projects and hot-fixes.
• Develops the associated implementation plan, creates the change request paperwork and sends out appropriate communications to the team acknowledging the above.

Must Haves
• At least 2 years of experience as a Release Manager.
• At least 2 years of software development and full software development lifecycle experience.
• A commitment to delivering releases on schedule.
• Speaks and writes clearly and concisely, with experience presenting schedules and processes to experienced technology teams, as well as business representatives.
• Dedication to a collaborative working style and the ability to work well in small teams, both onshore and offshore.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours, on-call support and production deployment.
• Good follow-up skills, keeping the team and management up to date with the latest information.
• Working knowledge of web-based application configuration and support.
Candidates will be considered in totality of their skills and experience versus strict interpretation of “must haves”.
Nice to Haves
• Ecommerce or Retail systems experience.
• Experience with the Agile methodology.
