The Social Media Manager sits alongside the Global Polo Marketing team owning the general social media landscape for the Polo Ralph Lauren brand. The Manager serves as the cornerstone for all things social for Polo – essentially driving the brand’s social media roadmap forward. Tactically, that means the Manager partners closely with the Marketing team on content ideation, then owns the execution thereof, including: calendar management; liaising with internal & external agency partners on shoots (where necessary); liaising with RL Media/Marketing teams to balance organic/paid strategy, and more. The right candidate will be highly organized & a strong communicator/presenter as the role will also coordinate with the internal PR, Editorial, Channel/Regional Marketing teams, Polo Stores, Legal and other departments to support the Polo brand’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the social media expert for the Polo brand, bringing to the table an always up-to-date knowledge of social media platforms & tools (posting, analytics, etc.), as well as current influencers potentially right for Polo brand.
• Own and drive Polo’s social media content calendar across all applicable platforms.
• Monitor (and/or partner with monitoring agency, if applicable) the Polo social channels, working with teams to analyze performance and make suggestions thereof. (Including benchmarking against defined competitive sets).
• Partner closely with the Global Marketing team in ideating social content for the Polo brand, and in crafting strategy decks, and presenting to larger stakeholder groups for full approvals.
• Coordinate the planning and execution of social media shoots.
• Source and manage relationships with social monitoring and platform partners to support and capitalize on opportunities in the social space.
• Manage social media contracts with external vendors, where applicable.
• Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years in digital marketing, advertising, PR or online marketing, preferably fashion/lifestyle vertical
• Highly organized, creative, diplomatic, self-assured about your social media expertise; cool-under-pressure and fantastic interpersonal and presenting skills
• Current, in-depth expertise in all key social platforms (& ideally monitoring/analytics/posting suites)
• General knowledge of Ralph Lauren brand, history, market position
• Substantial network in the digital space
• Ability to build and leverage a strong network of peers and partners
