POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, BI / Integration is responsible for leading projects that apply new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs in application integration. Works with the IT and business management teams to define overall technical direction. Partners with IT and business to determine system needs, influencing and guiding the change process from concept to implementation. Coordinates the efforts of staff and of key business partners in support of existing production systems and in the execution of new system projects. Serves as a functional and technical expert in one or more disciplines.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, administer, and maintain centralized enterprise data services capability.
• Lead the consolidation and development of data warehouse / data lake strategy to provide consistent, clean and integrated data.
• Implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security, quality, integrity and availability of enterprise wide information.
• Standardize data ingestion, data enrichment, and data organization, and integrate with internal and 3rd party sources and applications.
• Continuously monitor, measure and improve availability of quality data and information across the enterprise.
• Champion and drive adoption of self-service data visualization in combination with our Business Intelligence and Analytics team.
• Create robust, sustainable, scalable data ingestion and enrichment that supports business needs.
• Accountable for database development, modeling, integration, ETL and big data platforms.
• Lead and mentor a team of Tibco developers, data developers, architects, administrators and consultants.
• Work with stakeholders to identify gaps and define requirements as it relates to the operational efficiency of current and anticipated processes.
• Leads the development of policies, processes, standards and best practices in data and integration management.
• Leads data governance/quality/stewardship/integrity/security initiatives.
• Develop overall strategy and roadmap to address data integrity issues and ensure continuous improvement to data quality.
• Partner with security and risk team in implementing process changes to ensure compliance with privacy policies, security audits and PCI certifications.
• Manage vendor relationships and assist with vendor selection for future application solutions
• Remains abreast of emerging innovation, trends and best practices in enterprise applications, business intelligence, and data management.
• Guides applications strategic planning by gathering business requirements, defining process improvements, planning projects/programs, and allocating resources.
• Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to IT leaders and staff.
• Responsible for the escalation and resolution of the data system issues, outages and complaints.
• Manage projects throughout the entire systems development lifecycle, ensuring that requirements are defined accurately; systems are designed / coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements; and that teams execute efficiently. Create detailed project plans, coordinate team resources, and manage to overall project time line. Ensure that test plans are designed and executed successfully, all required system and user documentation is created accurately, projects are completed on time and under budget and anticipated business benefits are achieved.
• Provide technical training to programmers and programmer analysts on the use of new technologies. Provide working prototypes and development environments for other
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS degree.
• At least 8 to 10 years of IT experience in application development and support.
• Experience and deep understanding of Big Data technologies, DaaS, Analytics & Visualization
• Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
• Prior experience managing 7x24 enterprise operations and database administration teams
• Strong experience with Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Reporting Master Data Management,
• Data Quality, Data Governance, and Metadata Management.
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and/or enterprise applications development and integration environment required.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, outside agencies, organizations, and vendors with a strong customer service orientation required.
• Strong organizational, administrative, presentation and analytical skills required.
• Proven track record of project managing, developing, documenting, presenting and implementing functional requirements leading to the implementation of new business processes across multiple departments in an organization.
• A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
• Experience in design, development and leading application integration solutions using enterprise middleware toolset
• Experience with application servers like WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, OHS etc.,
• Strong understanding of Hadoop, Big Data and cloud concepts
• Demonstrated career progression in technical depth and breadth, and project complexity; ability to quickly become proficient in new technologies
• Technical orientation balanced by project management discipline; able to supervise internal programmers, analysts, consultants, non-technical business resources and external vendor resources
• Experience working for a national retailer with multiple stores or similar scale in a different industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
• Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as ROI
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
