Reporting Relationship:The Digital Category Manager reports to the Chief Site Merchant and manages a team of 2-6.

Role responsibilities include:
1. Drive Strategy:Develop overall online strategy in partnership with the Buyers by attending market appointments and shows, and perform in-depth analysis of sales and customer behavior, using data to drive business recommendations. Partner with the Buyers to create tailored assortments for the online business, including special online-only buys and exclusive categories. Collaborate with Buying and Planning to optimize depth and breadth of inventory. Perform ongoing analysis of the business, providing insights to the merchant team and surfacing new ways to drive sales. Manage the business in-season by recommending revisions to the navigation and experience as well as site content. Coach merchants on best practices to optimize their areas of the business online. Identify and report opportunities on category performance.
1. Strategic Roadmap:Calendar development requires the continual synthesis of digital marketing performance indicators, financial goals and market trends. Conceptualize and prioritize editorial strategy for the specified area of business and execute through site content and email. Approve creative briefs through the turn-in process. Requiresthe ability to balance, prioritize and edit the various merchandising needs of 2+ DMMs and 8+ buyers with finite site and email real estate.
1. People Development:Build and maintain a highly-functional and responsive team of Assistant Digital Category Managers who will execute Saks’ digital merchandising vision and commercial priorities for their specific categories of business.

Professional Qualifications
• Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant and progressive merchandising, creative and/or business management experience and will possess a mix of strategic, financial and creative abilities.
• Experience within the direct business in determining the strategic execution of events.
• Proven ability to create and execute a sound business strategy.
• Strong retail math and business acumen, including elements of merchandising (e.g. sales, gross margin) and the performance of features and digital assets (e.g. email opens, click-through).
• Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills; ability to build / maintain strong internal and external partnerships.
Educational Credentials
University or College degree or commensurate retail experience.
