Responsibilities:
The Assistant Textile Designer will use their design skills to create original textile designs that appropriately reflect Lucky Brand aesthetic. This position will work with design team in design, development, and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs.
• Create original design print and placement artwork
• Create original yarn dye artwork
• Scan, clean up, recolor and create repeats for prints
• Color separate and create pitch sheets/strike off requests for print artwork/yarn dyes
• Take conceptual direction from the Sr. Textile Designer to create original prints which accurately reflect the Lucky Brand style and maintain the standard of quality
• Develop and execute creative design concepts in accordance with brand objectives
• Develop artwork for production
• Communicate with design to develop artwork to spec
• Communicate with domestic and overseas offices regarding print needs/issues (includes: strike offs, artwork send out, any print/yarn dye development, etc.)
• Create, maintain and update Print Thumbnails
• Help to file and maintain print library
Qualifications:
• Skills/Qualifications:
• Degree in Apparel Textiles/Graphics (2-4 year program)
• 0-2 years experience in textile or fashion-related position/internship
• CAD
• Familiarity with print genres
• Interest in current print trends
• Knowledge of printing techniques and capabilities
• Broad skills in paint, ink and pen
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Mac OS
• Fundamental knowledge of color and composition
• Able to adapt to a fast pace ever changing environment
• Attention to detail and resilient to feedback
• Sense of urgency
Physical Capabilities:
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to decipher colors
• Effectively use office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers and faxes
• Sit for extended periods of time in one position
