Description
As a Production Artist I – Promo, you will work closely with the category product-creation team to create, manage and maintain seasonal product images and graphics for multiple product types, including apparel, headwear, and equipment. The Production Art community is part of the Digital Product Creation Studio and supports multiple product categories.
Key Objectives, Team Dynamic and the Business Units you Support:
• Participate in a dynamic work environment within a matrix structure, including Merchandising, Product Management, Design, Development, Sports Marketing.
• Support your category in the product-creation process by providing retail and promo product images for multiple product types. Create and manage graphics and images seasonally, throughout the creative process.
• Create visual tools for image reviews and production. Adjust graphics and images according to product changes from matrix teams throughout the product-creation process.
• Follow Nike standards for accuracy, detail, and organization.
• Fast-paced, high-quantity production work, with times of ambiguity and waiting for direction.
• Ability to shift priorities on a daily basis. High rate of volatility and proactive coordination.
• Work in multiple, overlapping seasons on products with multiple colors and graphics.
What the Production Artist will be doing in this role:
• Take art direction from design team along with input from other teammates, to create graphics, illustrations, and schematics for factories as well as various seasonal visual support tools.
• Maintain graphic and illustration updates throughout the season. Meet production deadlines for creation and distribution of images and visual tools to matrix partners.
• Maintain seasonal data and images in web-based systems.
Key Projects/Deliverables associated with the Production Art role:
• Graphic creation and continuous updates – Illustrator and some Photoshop
• Illustration clean up, creation and continuous updates – Illustrator
• File server maintenance and organization
• Upload files to PIM
• Promote and tackle Global Illustration style standardization and re-drawing
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design/Illustration or relevant
• 1-2+ year’s experience working with illustration, design, multimedia and page-layout software on a Macintosh computer
• 3 year’s experience in lieu of a degree
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and PhotoShop)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Experience with graphic art, illustration, photo editing, web design, color design or animation
• Experience communicating messages and ideas with images instead of words
• Apparel and high-volume production experience is preferred
Skills/Roles Required for this position:
• Strong Adobe CS5 (CS6 a plus) Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop knowledge and skills.
• Detail and results oriented: good attention to details and deadlines. General ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and follow-through to deliver on commitments.
