Catherines 10 week summer internship program will prepare you to work at the home office of a retailer, putting you a step ahead of your competition.

An intern in the marketing department will be exposed to the world of marketing and marketing production, and will learn what’s involved with marketing a brand. The intern will be able to see the flow of information from the beginning stages of strategic planning to the printed materials being set up in stores. The fundamentals of production – traffic, scheduling, print buying, and logistics will be a part of the learning experience, as well as being immersed in other marketing roles such as branding, copy, creative, and ecommerce. This will prove to be a fantastic opportunity to explore marketing as well as the retail industry, apply what you’ve learned thus far in your education, and get a feel for the real world marketing environment.
• Running daily reports
• Assisting with the routing of jobs through the department
• Status inquiries on color proofs
• Assisting with store operations sign requests
• Delivering samples to necessary parties
• Assisting with the bidding out of signage to printers
• As well as other marketing projects, tasks, and assignments
• Do competitive analysis, and create swipes for possible upcoming marketing campaigns
• Compile information for social calendar and discuss findings in weekly social media meeting
Requirements
• Must be able to work a 40 hour week June-August of 2017
• Pursuing a degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, as well as Adobe Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Must be flexible and good at multitasking as well as capable of meeting deadlines
• Exceptional communication skills; bother written and verbal
• Must be detail-oriented and organized
