The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for the management and innovation of Express’s email campaign execution. The person in this role will be intimately involved with email campaigns from campaign conception to deployment and analysis. The role requires the associate to become a subject matter expert within Express’s Campaign Management Platform (Adobe Campaign), continually seeking out ways to improve the effectiveness of the email channel
Key responsibilities include:
• Strategy and planning
• Cross-functional partnership to understand and implement brand moments and brand campaigns specific to the women’s business and Express editorial content
• Plan and manage the development and execution of email marketing programs, including Brand Messaging (promotional campaigns), segmented campaigns, & triggers (reviews, cart abandonment, welcome series) at a seasonal and annual level.
• Assisting in audience selection & email personalization execution
• Assist in reporting and performance tracking
• Analyze competitive marketplace and follow email trends
• Identify and implement new strategies and testing scenarios for email marketing programs o Reporting and analysis- Analyze daily, weekly, monthly reports to evolve and drive email revenue contribution
• Communicate analysis of email metrics on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis at the program and campaign level. Apply learnings to future emails to improve productivity
• Provide inputs to budgets and forecast based on performance history and historical trends
• Work with website analytic platforms, including Omniture, to create reporting and share key insights with cross-functional team o Operations
• Work request (Jira) creation & workflow management. Write effective creative briefs that include campaign objectives and strategic messaging plus manage creative process.
• Campaign change management and problem-solving
• Deliverability template creation, campaign QA & approval
• Email calendar management & communication
• Testing & optimization setup and results reporting
• Email process management & communication
• Effectively manage best-in-class agency partners and external vendors
• Work with Email Marketing Manager to manage operational details such as email deployments, source code uploads, and link management
• Launch and project-manage new functionality
• Transition to Adobe Campaign
Essential Requirements
Education
College degree is required, Marketing or Business preferred
Experience:
• Minimum 1-3 years relevant Email marketing experience; retail industry preferred
• Minimum 1-3 years of eCommerce or direct to consumer experience; retail industry preferred
Preferred Requirements (skills and abilities)
• Experience with high volume, consumer facing websites with meaningful annual revenue
• Proven ability to translate analytic data into strategic ideas
• Strong understanding of Internet based consumer behavior and direct marketing principles
• Demonstrated success in delivering efficient traffic and revenue to the bottom line
• Experience working with web analytic tools, preferably Omniture
