PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
STRATEGY DEFINITION
• Conduct market and competitive research and use internal data to identify key opportunities and issues, help prioritization of topics and develop recommendations to fuel sustainable growth, innovation and differentiation in the market place
• Develop business cases and analyses to support strategic decision making and go to market priorities and choices
• Partner with business leaders on strategic questions and take initiative to develop, recommend and implement solutions
• Identify and share internal and external best practices
STRATEGY EXECUTION
• Support strategy execution by outlining key initiatives and actions throughout the year as well as proposing seasonal direction and plans that help reach yearly and long term goals and objectives
• Build, improve and update regular cross-functional progress tracking against yearly strategic objectives and initiatives in EMEA, following our OGSTM framework. Summarize the information in management scorecards and dashboards and identify areas where attention is needed.
• Ensure departments deliver action plans to execute their respective strategic initiatives throughout the year with key milestones and deliverables, and provide advice and support where needed
• Prepare the monthly strategy execution/OGSTM reviews, highlight initiatives that are not tracking against objectives and provide recommendations for improvement.
BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT
• Coordinate the EMEA GTM (Go-to-Market) process and calendar for the various seasons in preparation and execution, including the cross-functional GTM meetings, managing the agenda and action lists, following up with departments, and ensuring process, deadlines and deliverables are adhered to and results are delivered.
• Work with Sales and DTC teams to manage and optimize supporting processes with regards to business operations, D2C and B2B alignment, reporting and analysis, gross-to-net management, tools and systems, forecasting and reviews.
• Manage and optimize key cross-functional components of our operating model, such as the service account model, the segmentation and distribution approach, and the assortment strategy, in cooperation with sales, marketing, product, retail and service departments
• Maintain, update and communicate the yearly management calendar for The North Face.
• Align core processes with global functions and other regions
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Manage key strategic cross-departmental projects with high visibility and impact and ensure projects get delivered on time and on budget
• Provide advice on embedding delivered projects in the business-as-usual organization, including resource requirements, and ensure handover
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance. Advanced Business Degree / MBA from a leading school in Europe or the US strongly preferred.
Language skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other European languages (German, French, Italian) a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in strategy, business operations and business planning, process management and project management.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both consulting as well as corporate strategy and execution experience in a large global organization
Having had a European/global work experience and line management experience is a plus.
Solid experience in leading complex operational processes and strategic initiatives.
Experience aligning sales, marketing, product and service across an international matrix organization
Proven process optimization and project/program management experience
Proven affinity with strategic planning and execution
Technical Skills:
Highly proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Solid management knowledge of digital tools that support or drive sales, marketing and service processes and execution as well as business intelligence
