Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for leading the function and allocation/distribution team within the North American Retail channel. The Sr. Director of Allocation oversees the management of door profiling, inventory levels by store to support overall sales and inventory plans. In addition, this leader is a pivotal partner to Visual Merchandising, Buying, Field and DC leadership. As the team leader, this position supervises several direct reports in addition to owning allocation strategies for all product categories and managing special projects.

• Drive the financial success of NA Retail through strategic analysis and effective allocation strategies.
• Oversee the work and professional development of Allocation team.
• Develop extensive knowledge of store, district, and regional level performance through data analysis and use expertise to work with cross functional partners to support business growth.
• Manage inventory levels to support overall sales and inventory plans.
• Partner and effectively build relationships within Retail Buying, as well as Corporate Merchandising, Visual Merchandising and Marketing, to effectively discuss issues and capitalize on opportunities cross functionally
• Work with a cross-functional team to support initial inventory levels for new store openings.
• Partner with Distribution Center to plan and manage weekly/monthly shipments based on financial targets. Work with Transportation to adjust routing seasonally to support store velocity. Work with the Special Projects team on all product updates related to pricing, quality, special handling.
• Visit stores and market on regular basis in order to understand customers’ and stores’ product needs
The accomplished individual will possess...
• BA or BS degree required, preferably in an area focused on quantitative analysis.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a Retail Allocation or Store Planning role is required, preferably with a fashion or luxury brand.
• Experience managing a team in a corporate environment is required.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to support and motivate a high performing team.
• Strong strategic thinking and outstanding analytical/quantitative skills.
• Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with team members and cross functional partners at all levels.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, strong time management skills, ownership and initiative.
• Adaptability/flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
• Ability to learn systems and new processes quickly.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (V-lookups, complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc.).
• Experience working with allocation systems required, experience with JDA is a plus.
