As a Sr designer Women you will drive the creation of a consumer and market focused innovative product offer contributing to the overall business strategy and brand vision.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Conduct consumer market research to identify market trends appropriate to the brand, consumer behaviour and new product opportunities.
• Build and deliver a clear creative, innovative and consumer targeted creative direction for the women line.
• Supplier visits to launch development/designs of new collection.
• Drive the development of seasonal inspiration (concepts) and the development of key product stories and initiatives supported by trend research and consumer/distribution understanding.
• Partner with development team, briefing them with the desired look clearly and precisely and to ensure alignment throughout development process.
• Support fittings of prototypes in-house and on-site.
• Give a clear input for fabric/finish developments and fit and colour concepts.
• Present proposals with all relevant information at hand for decisions to be made on both fabric, trims and styling.
• Draw in Illustrator all style developments, new trims and other required elements to be clearly communicated at design reviews and prepare factory ready handover documents.
• Manage the briefing of all new labels, tags and prints for all product categories, in line with Go to Market calendar and respecting the budget and margin targets.
• Allocate the trims/labels/threads to each lot number and execute and update in technical drawing to ensure smooth way of working.
• Design to cost – understand the impact of cost in every aspect of the product and work within the constraints of cost.
• Drive key product and key outfit research, proposal and selection.
Your role in the design process:
• Drive design reviews and in between design related updates - ensure attendance from key stake holders, establish the purpose of the meeting and prepare presentation material.
• Ensure that all design activities are within the agreed Go To Market calendar deadlines and are in line with signed off creative direction.
• Ensure proper communication between Product Managers (market feedback and line plan structure) and Development (realizing the collection) throughout the entire process.
• Drive towards efficient ways of working and help solve design construction/fabric/ fit/quality issues in collaboration with development.
• Create and maintain all design records including technical data sheets for styles/ fabric/finish/trims.
Communication
• Effective daily communication with internal departments on line related issues and towards positive solutions and decisions.
• Drive the completion of seasonal design concepts to present on boards and in Powerpoint presentations.
• Effective and inspirational presentation internally of design concepts and product initiatives.
People Management
• Manage personal growth and development of direct - Strong knowledge of the fashion industry both in terms of trends and business.
• Strong empathy and background on Denim
• Being driven by a mix between creativity and consumer needs. Highly commercial, consumer needs must be considered and translated into trend relevant product targeted to our final consumer.
• Creative mindset and strong skills to translate input/ideas/briefing into sketches
• Ability to work in multicultural environment.
• At least 8 years industry experience and demonstrates comprehensive experience within retailer or a brand.
• Excellent time management skills, clear understanding of development process and communication to different stakeholders (developers/merchandiser/ supply chain/supplier/marketing/sales)
• High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• High level of presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Pan European experience would be ideal
• Strong management skills and result orientation
• Strong knowledge on all designer software & programs
• Availability to travel (10%)
