Purpose and Scope:To work in conjunction with the Corporate Merchandising Team to develop well balanced, trend appropriate assortments that provide both volume and margin growth for our retail partners and reflect the seasonal PRL merchandising vision for each brand.
• Create preseason line development parameters which will lead to a properly balanced seasonal assortment.
• Utilize current selling data to develop appropriate global classification plans adn key item roadmaps.
• Shop marketplace to identify new merchandise trends and key item opportunities and present findings
• Ensure seamless communication between the Merchandising and Sales teams.
• Direct and manage Wholesale Inventory Planning process to ensure achievement of corporate sales goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic Financial Planning:
◦ Partner with SVP's of Sales to ensure alignment on Seasonal Financial Metrics- Collaborate Sales leads to leverage Key Account information
◦ Participate in all preseason merchandising meetings and workshops to understand merchandise direction, fashion flow and rig selection
• Assortment Planning Process:
◦ Develop global estimate of total units by style to be purchased for each delivery period
◦ Deliver style needs to Corporate Merchandising through seasonal scorecard process
◦ Lead assortment planning strategies for key Department Store and Specialty Accounts and facilitate communication of the Strategies to the Account Planning Team
• Merchandise Awareness:
◦ Actively shop marketplace to identify merchandise trends and key item opportunities
◦ Develop awareness of major competitors and analyze effectiveness of assortments
• Analysis and Forecasting Process:
◦ Review company sales trends to incorporate into global financial targets and scorecard process
◦ Monitor and manage inventory commitments pre-market through delivery
• Reporting Process:
◦ Ensure weekly pagination selling is updated and distributed
◦ Develop consistent format for and deliver sales trend reports to Global Brand Team
◦ Partner with Planning Group to ensure Key Account recaps are reviewed and compared to original targets
• Communication:
◦ Partner with Cross Functional leads to create, maintain and adhere to seasonal purchase calendars
◦ Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales Team to insure Account plans reflect Global Brand strategic merchandise direction
◦ Conduct Quarterly Sales Meetings and Market Post mortems
Qualifications:
• College degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 6 years merchandising and financial planning experience required in the apparel industry
• Understanding of Specialty Store Retail Channel
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong computers skills
• Self motivated and organized
