The HSN Marketing Team builds and supports the HSN brand and business, and the brand and businesses of our partners, by leveraging and expressing customer insight through all HSN touch points and external media in a way that builds the HSN community, drives preference and action, and attracts and retains customers.
A Day in the Life
As an intern on the Integrated Marketing team, you will complement your classroom learnings on tactical execution in all media (TV, Digital, Print, Social, Mobile and Sales), consumer promotion campaigns, program tracking and analysis, direct marketing, and market research. By the end of your program, you will have a complete understanding of how HSN develops multi-platform marketing programs for brand name products and services for millions of HSN customers.
Student Learning Objectives
• Achieve HSN's internship program global objectives
• Understand the company's mission and strategy and develop an understanding of how the global plan helps define business unit strategy and goals.
• Develop an understanding of divisional organizational structure and the cross-functional relationships that the business unit has with other parts of the business.
• Gain practical industry experience in a profession that aligns to the desired career path.
• Understand how multi-disciplinary marketing/sales departments interact with each other
• Understand the role of Integrated Marketing and Brand Marketing
• Identify key business operating roles, marketing attributes and operating functions by department
• Prepare written marketing strategic briefs
• Differentiate between a strategic and tactical marketing initiative
• Prepare a PowerPoint presentation on the results of a marketing initiative
• Make recommendations on future steps on the program
• Research and report on competitive analysis

Must Haves:
• Working towards a Bachelors Degree in a related field with the ability to obtain course credit through the college or university for unpaid program
• Commit at least 20 consistently scheduled hours per week; interns can work up to 40 hours per week and will have the opportunity to meet the hourly requirements of the university
• Proficient in Microsoft office programs
• If not local, temporary relocation to St. Petersburg, FL.
