MISSION/ROLE:
The Digital Designer will help execute the brand voice for Cole Haan online including design, layout, graphic production and user experience. The role will report to the Senior Digital Designer and support the creative process from original concepts to final implementation across web and email. This position will collaborate with brand design and copy, eCommerce, digital marketing, product merchandising and technology.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Design visually attractive interfaces and web pages based on the principles of design and usability, support marketing initiatives with promotion, banners and various creative collateral both animated and static.
• Help to define the Cole Haan brand visual language in the form of design, framework, copy, eCommerce concepts and shopping tools
• Partner with Brand Design team members to integrate company branding, video, still images, text and audio into a web environment that ensures a cohesive Cole Haan brand image
• Look for ways to evolve the user experience in the form of smart design solutions and new user interactions
• Design product imagery and descriptions
• Partner with Ecommerce Art Director on day-to-day creative updates and site changes.
• Produce emails and advertising, using both flash and html.
• Support strategies to drive site performance and KPI results through creative content
• Partner with retail merchandising/buying, marketing and eCommerce operations on creative and business related needs for the website.
Requirements
• BFA or BA degree required in Interactive Design, Communication Design or related field
• Minimum 2+ years of web design experience
• Strong portfolio that exemplifies a broad range of web design knowledge, online marketing strategies and banner design experience
• Solid understanding of Ecommerce business, including desktop, mobile and APP strategies and design executions
• Extensive knowledge of web browsers and publishing programs, HTML, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, Flash, AJAX and CSS. Mac platform required, PC experience a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Strong retouching abilities.
• Experience in video slicing with proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to communicate in both technical and business environments
• Ability to handle multiple priorities (quickly and efficiently) with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
