Description
Primary Functions:
• Leading the strategic development and brand growth of Estee Lauder in SEA/VIP markets.
• Develop a sustainable multi/axis business ensuring leadership in make-up, fragrance and high performance skincare across designated affiliates.
• Amplify the Brand Experience across the 360 consumer touch points, best in class retail experience.
• Reinforce our expertise at retail, flagship and high-volume door strategy, elevate the level of execution in the affiliates.
• Work as an integrated partner with the VP/GM EL to serve as Brand connection between the affiliate teams in the markets, Regional and Global Teams (Global Marketing, Promotions, Studies, CRM and Special Events) for all aspects of regional business development.
• Lead the Estee Lauder brand teams in the region (SEA/VIP) with regards to Brand strategies or tactics, as well as develop the teams/ individuals in capability & performance to achieve the vision.
• Identify new consumer insights to enable the Brand to deliver new innovative, highly competitive products, programs and communication to engage new and existing consumers.
• Manage the pan-Asian specialty-multi partnerships, coordinating strategy and execution plans between affiliate, regional and Global teams.
• Lead the development of retail operations and pan-Asian strategy for Free Standing Stores (FSS)/Free Standing Store Formats (FSF).
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Regional Director will have 3 core responsibilities:
1. Brand Development in the region and partnering with VP/GM in Estee Lauder
2. Direct Affiliate Leadership
3. Retail Performance Optimization – including direct performance management of the specialty-multi & free standing store channels
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
1. Build strong Brand equity, regional strategies, organization, financial processes and best-in-class people/team development.
2. Work with Regional team to provide support programs which are relevant and competitively superior, taking into consideration local relevance, cluster specifications and new segment opportunities.
3. Maximize Point-of-Sale and in-store execution. Work closely with Affiliate and Regional teams, Asia Pacific Design Center (APDC) and Education Team to further enhance counter experience and service innovation.
4. Provide feedback to Regional team regarding programs effectiveness, as well as regional needs in terms of new products, shades, communication formats, promotional tools and in general all aspects of marketing mix.
DIRECT AFFILIATE LEADERSHIP:
Take full regional and P&L responsibility for the development of the Affiliates in 2 clusters:
1. South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore) – continue to strengthen Brand performance (growth in Sales, Market Share, NOP) by optimizing strategic plans, team development, market/consumer knowledge. Provide Affiliate/Cluster input to synergize efforts across the region.
2. VIP (Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines) & Myanmar – enable Brand to achieve its full potential in these fast growing markets. Identify optimal distribution, free-standing stores and consumer marketing opportunities.
RETAIL PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION:
Elevate retail performance and execution across the Region by:
• Further drive sales and education functions to make them more integrated and strategic. Synergize efforts with marketing calendar. Advise on Field organization and build strong field cultures.
• Reinforce top-door strategy via in-depth analysis guidance to local teams and more effective monthly Snapshot reports
• Build and manage the pan-Asian specialty multi strategy. Identify best practices and programming for the region (with focus on the Sephora group).
• Build the Estee Lauder model for Free-standing store expertise and increase traffic/consumer loyalty in existing stores.
Qualifications
• University Degree Holder with minimum 10 years working experience (preferably in brand management)
• Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the FMCG or cosmetic industry or with regional exposure.
