Category Buyer - Accessories

We are currently looking for a motivated and passionate Accessories Buyer to join us on this incredible journey of growth with Cotton On Kids. Ideally you are someone who can work both autonomously and as part of a team, to provide new innovations and a professional and efficient service.
The primary purpose of this role is to create seasonal ranges for each market which supports the Kids DNA. The Accessories Buyer is accountable for the product selection, management and growth, achieving budgeted sales; and achieving margin and profit across all regions for accessories.
Working closely with the trend and product team, you will dedicate your skills to:
Product
• Ensure product and colour selection results in a cohesive range that can be cross referenced with other categories to allow for easy customer selection and multiple purchases
• Work in conjunction with the trend team to develop product in line with trend direction, for each region.
• Develop a range in line with our retail hierarchy that fulfils the COG tiering structure of Volume, Fashion volume and Fashion
• Engage in pre season product review with key stakeholders providing samples/CAD’s, tiering, and pricing and margin achieved by region.
• Continually manage the product approval process; lab dips , colour swatches, fits and compliance
Sales
• Drive the allocated categories by giving the customer the product they want, when they want it, at the right price exceeding expectations, resulting in increased sales.
• Detailed analysis and reporting on sales, by region; on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis by department, by category and by item
• Working in conjunction with VM team to deliver your vision by region on how you visualized the store to look and online to look.
Margin
• Implement tiering of each category, maximise key drivers and participate in cross department programs to allow for bulk buying opportunities.
• Purchase product to ensure best price is negotiated to meet the target buying margin while protecting the pricing hierarchy.
Planning
• Budgeted spend is to be managed in conjunction with the planner, ensuring core items for the season are defined and optimized.
• Reacting in season to maximise sales opportunities.
• Option plans challenged each season.
Production
• Work within production timelines and with the Brand Production Manager to ensure on time deliveries.
You will be able to identify current market trends and translate them into fashion forward product that reaches our target market. You have previous hands on product development experience, direct OS supplier negotiation skills and are adept at managing OTB with a Planner. You thrive on working in a team, mentoring product developers and have the ability to work well under pressure. Previous experience working with Kids Accessories will be highly regarded.
