Sephora is looking for a Senior Manager for our growing Marketing Analytics Team! Come help build a leading analytics program at one of the most innovative eCommerce companies in the country. The Marketing Analytics team helps drive strategy by synthesizing performance metrics into actionable insights across multiple marketing channels including: Email, Paid Search, Organic Search, Display, Affiliates, Social, Mobile, Video and other new and emerging marketing channels.
The Senior Manager will help provide both day-to-day insights and big picture analysis to help optimize performance across Sephora's marketing channels. Working closely with the Director of Marketing Analytics you will be responsible for building out a holistic view on marketing performance by leveraging state of the art analytics tools (i.e. VisualIQ, Adobe, SAS, Tableau, Actian). Key projects include Attribution, Testing, Personalization, and Channel Optimization. You will also be responsible for hiring, developing, and mentoring Senior Analysts on the Marketing Analytics team. This role is highly visible by working cross functionally with Marketing, Product Management, and IT and is charged with identifying areas of opportunity to drive revenue by instilling data-driven best practices across the company.
Qualifications:
• Direct experience with analytics and leveraging data to uncover actionable business insights
• Working knowledge of eCommerce and marketing channel performance metrics
• Working knowledge of Paid Media (at least Display or Search marketing channels)
• Direct people management experience preferred
• Retail industry experience preferred
Strong Data Analytics Skillset:
• Proficient SQL programming skills; experience with SAS/SQL preferred
• Expert level understanding of Microsoft Office suite especially Excel and PowerPoint and how to ‘tell a story’ that provides insight into the business by leveraging data
• Proficient using an enterprise-level digital analytics platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.) and preference will be given to candidates with experience using paid media platforms (Marin, Kenshoo, Google Adwords, Epsilon Harmony, etc.)
• A working understanding of attribution and the differences between rules-based last click attribution versus algorithmic multi-touch attribution. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with VisualIQ or another attribution platform (i.e. Adometry, ClearSaleing, Convertro, etc.).
• Preference will be given to candidates that also have an understanding of Big Data technology (e.g. Actian) and Visualization tools (i.e. Tableau) and how to leverage the platforms to blend data from multiple data sources to help answer key business questions.
• Strong analytical skills. Ability to draw conclusions from data and drive action accordingly
General Requirements:
• BA/BS required
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in an analytics role
• Preference for 1-3 years of direct experience managing people
• High level of initiative and proven ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem solving skills; ability to take initiative on resolving issues then partner with manager to communicate
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to stay focused on business goals and communicate analytics insights to all levels of the organization
• Impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to indirectly manage and build strong relationships and consensus across diverse teams and personality types
