ShopStyle (a division of POPSUGAR Inc) is seeking a creative, goal-oriented individual with a highly entrepreneurial spirit to join our team as Executive Vice President of Marketing. This person will define and build our global brand identity as well as develop and execute our global marketing strategy to establish ShopStyle as the leading fashion destination. We are looking for a passionate, hands-on creative leader to bring the brand to life by creating an emotional connection with our consumers and ensuring a full, rich and consistent content strategy throughout the ShopStyle journey – from discovery and learning to purchase decision and advocacy. The successful candidate will be motivated by an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to dig into the details, make decisions quickly and stand up to challenges when necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and execution of the global marketing strategy, align it with the global strategy and setup key performance success metrics
• Define and develop creative and brand strategy, leveraging creative to deliver on business and marketing objectives
• Drive brand innovation and idea generation based on insight from both the markets and consumers, leveraging traditional and new technologies, platforms and channels
• Develop and communicate a deep understanding of customer journeys and customer lifetime value by channel and segment, developing a robust CRM and informing future strategies
• Oversee the development of all marketing initiatives to ensure high engagement and ROI, including customer acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring sustained future growth
• Drive new customers via paid and organic search, social media programs, e-mail marketing, and other digital and traditional marketing initiatives. Be creative and use the latest techniques to build the user base and accelerate growth of per customer value through range of re-marketing strategies, loyalty and retention programs.
• Drive repeat business and raise consumer engagement and revenue through merchandising programs and opportunities. Work with existing content creators to deliver compelling repeat business and increased sales. Work with the Product Development teams to create data-driven, personalized shopping experiences.
• Develop PR strategies that elevate visibility as a prestigious, high value, trusted brand. Drive efforts to create thought leadership content to help build brand awareness
• Seek out new partnerships for co-marketing opportunities. Conceive and execute memorable events that attract positive publicity, reward existing customers, attract new customers and respected partners
• Partner with internal teams to lead a unified approach to our global customer strategy. Work hand in hand with Product group to help shape future features and products. Work with Business Development team to build mutually beneficial programs for our 1,500 retailer and 16k influencer partnerships
• Support Trade Marketing initiatives to support revenue growth from influencer, retail, and brand partners
Qualifications
• 14+ years experience of relevant work experience in consumer marketing, product marketing and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products
• Reputation and track record as an innovative, creative, effective and resourceful marketer that has meaningfully contributed to building brands and businesses globally
• Strong sense of brand and editorial voice; the ability to harmonize message across platforms
• In-depth understanding of market trends, visual composition, content strategy principles and best practices, and the art of aesthetic presentation
• Experience operating across the full marketing mix, including but not limited to setting a brand vision, proposition development, customer insight, creating a community through social, customer acquisition and retention, search marketing, influencer marketing, and partnerships
• Able to bridge data analysis, primary and secondary research, competitive intelligence and marketing savvy to build powerful marketing and communication programs
• Excellent leadership skills, strategic thinker, creative while also analytical, outstanding execution skills (change management, leadership effectiveness) and a team player
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners at all levels
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, with the ability to lead and adapt in a changing business environment
• Familiarity with—and passion for—fashion and style
• Background in ecommerce and/or experience developing and executing loyalty programs a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing; MBA preferred
