Benefit is currently seeking a Director of Global Creative Services in our San Francisco headquarters. Reporting to the VP, Global Creative Services, the Director for Global Creative Services’ main responsibilities are to manage the Global Creative Services team and manage department projects. The Director will oversee and direct the creative team for Global brand initiatives, including fixtures, product display, boutiques, branding projects and other Global creative services projects, ensuring they are infused with the Benefit DNA. Works closely with clients to understand goals and vision and manages production per schedule and per budget requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organizational and Management:
◦ Manage, inspire and motivate the Global Creative Services Team, made up of designers and creatives across disciplines, including graphic and industrial design.
◦ Mentor designers and encourage innovative, strategic solutions, while navigating changes in strategy/creative direction.
◦ Foster at all times a healthy departmental morale and a collaborative work environment within the team and across departments.
• Project management:
◦ Prioritize projects, secure deadlines and ensure that deliverables are met by the team. This team manages a large book of projects in a fast-paced environment to meet the needs of a Global business.
• Budget Management:
◦ Manage the P&L for the Global Creative Services dept.
• Vendor Management:
◦ Manage and direct vendors, workrooms and contractors daily to meet timelines of projects, in close collaboration with the Purchasing team.
• Partnerships with Cross-functional teams:
◦ Attend and sometimes lead cross-functional team meetings and ensure creative projects are infused with the brand DNA.
◦ Meet regularly with the different heads of departments in Benefit and most specifically with the following departments: Art, Purchasing, Education, Services, PR & Communication
• Localization projects:
◦ The position also requires close relationships with local markets through the local Creative Services managers to collect markets’ feedback and support, ensuring that localized projects adhere to Global Creative Services brand guidelines.
◦ Provide counsel to the markets on local creative services projects.
• Ad hoc Projects:
◦ Will be assigned ad hoc special international projects, tasks and responsibilities according to business needs and provide project oversight.
◦ All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience in Creative services
• Strong Managerial capacities with ability to inspire and develop creative talent.
• BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Prior experience leading a team of designers.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong creative skills and ability to interpret the brand’s DNA into projects
• Prior experience in visual merchandising and branding elements for a creative consumer brand.
• Ability to work cross functionally with several different departments & different levels of the organization
• Ability to travel overseas and manage expenses according to company T&E policy.
• Good presentation and communication skills
