Key Responsibilities
• You will be the resident expert on all matters related to the collection, implementation, evaluation and interpretation of the tests that improve our business
• Exploring new avenues for enhancing performance by harnessing cutting-edge technology and academic ideas.
• Your goal is to lead the company on successfully using data to make accurate, consistent, data-driven decisions and develop the tools and infrastructure to make your ideas a reality.
Who you are
• MSc/PhD or relevant industry experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning or other scientific discipline.
• Extensive experience in one or more of the following fields: hypothesis testing, Bayesian inference, reinforcement learning, time series modelling, online learning.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting advanced statistical analysis. You’ve probably built a model with STAN, JAGS or PYMC. You understand the problems with repeated testing on data and you’ve thought about optimal solutions to multi-armed bandit problems.
• A keen desire to research, develop and implement world-leading solutions to problems. We want you to go beyond the easy, obvious answers to find the best one possible and then figure out how to make it a reality!
• An eagerness to set the standard for testing within the company: consulting, training and advising colleagues accordingly. In addition, you will contribute to the development and work of the wider
• Expertise in R or Python with familiarity with SQL a big plus. Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, visualisation (e.g. Tableau, D3.js) and web programming is also desirable.
• Outstanding communication skills. You’ll be comfortable taking complex ideas and communicating them to different audiences: developers in how to build your ideas, analysts and marketers in how to conduct and evaluate tests, senior managers in the value and importance of data-driven decision making.
