Purpose and Scope: Manage product development process from product design phases to stock approval for Polo Outerwear category.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with Design and Merchandising on execution of product as defined by Line Plan/ Design Briefs.
• Drive self and partner with cross function departments to maintain seasonal calendar deadlines in order to develop quality product that meets design and business objectives.
• Work in tandem with design to understand, execute and communicate Product Specifications.
• Attend required meetings and provide updates/advice to all partners development status.
• Communicate product definition to merchandising team to support accurate line-sheet/GFE upload.
• Work in PLM to load design packages, update and maintain information.
• Work with Fabric Operations, Fabric R&D, and Trim Operations to understand accurate definition, costing, and production lead times of materials and key components.
• Facilitate approvals as required or directed of material components not related to fabric- (ie., trim, labels, logos).
• Facilitate cost engineering to meet cost goals, including maximizing construction opportunities while minimizing liabilities. Identify where costing objectives are out of sync with manufacturing or supplier trends.
• Manage Sample tracking, Market, PR, and Rigging Samples.
• Travel to suppliers, factories, offices as needed.
• Stay current with competitive market, new materials, innovation.
Qualifications:
• College degree preferred.
• 5 years of more of relevant experience.
• Wovens experience necessary; Outerwear experience preferred.
• Need to be highly detail oriented, thorough, accurate and dedicated to seeing a project through on time.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve efficiently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, independent worker who enjoys a fast paced dynamic work environment.
• Experience with PLM (or similar), Outlook, Excel, and Word required, Illustrator a plus.
