The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Sales Director.
Job Summary
The Sales Director is a leadership role focused on providing guidance toward achievement of strategic goals and coaching on improving market, district and Dealer effectiveness with the goal of increasing profit and ridership for Harley-Davidson. This role will provide direction for our newly-formed Inside Sales team, supporting smaller Dealers, and Dealer Group Managers, supporting Dealers with five or more main locations. This leader will also operationalize and refine the strategy for our Sales Support team and Police/Fleet sales.
The Director is accountable for achieving corporate growth/sales targets, including market share, revenue and customer experience and is responsible for identifying key areas of improvement and support of the teams and ensuring that resources are made available to close performance gaps. This role will create an understanding of and clarify focus on the organization’s vision and direction through regular sharing of and creating accountability for the business goals, targets, and updates.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop strategic plans to address growth opportunities and deficiencies within defined set of Dealers
• Translate Company strategies and priorities into clear action plans with measurable objectives and timeframes
• Execute targeted plans and align the team to drive performance goals within defined set of Dealers
• Engage with Field team to ensure optimal responsiveness from the Dealers
• Oversee monthly/quarterly/yearly vehicle forecasting and market/district plan reviews
• Review performance of Dealer portfolio including progress against targets (sales, market share, growth) and areas for improvement with the Field team
• Partner with Dealer Development to support execution of performance improvement and buy/sell initiatives within defined market/region
• Coordinate within US Sales leadership to ensure consistency and optimal collaboration among teams and functions in the Field
• Coordinate with Juneau retail managers (motorcycle, P&A, GM) to manage product line performance
Education Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience Requirements
Required
• Typically requires a minimum of 12 years related experience. Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
• Must display exceptional leadership and professional management skills with proven ability to achieve superior results in a management role
• Must have a leadership style that encourages collaboration, cooperation and teamwork with the ability to motivate others. Can foster team collaboration through clear objectives, processes, and measurements
• Requires a thorough understanding of financial measures, forecasting and other analytical skills. Ability to demonstrate deep understanding of key financial drivers of Dealer's business, including what best in class numbers should look like
• Demonstrate a record of designing sales strategies, managing a sales force and achieving plan results.
