We’re seeking a Director, Project Management, based in our Denver, Colorado office (global headquarters). In this role, you will you will be an experienced and strategic leader who will drive our global project and portfolio management functions. The individual will be responsible for leading a global team of project managers responsible for aligning priorities and driving Western Union Business Solutions’ strategic initiatives.

Project Management:
• Lead globally distributed team of resources responsible for enterprise project management within Western Union Business Solutions.
• Responsible for the planning and execution of internal and external strategic business unit projects across multiple functions and geographies.
• Partner with IT project management to ensure effective collaboration and clear roles-and-responsibilities for project delivery across the business and IT.
Portfolio Management
• Lead a small team of resources responsible for managing project intake, sizing, prioritization, and resourcing.
• Facilitate regular meetings with the Western Union Business Solutions executive team to review new project requests and make decisions on the relative priorities and sequencing of various project requests.
• Work with IT, Product, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure resources are aligned to deliver projects in line with the business unit’s priorities
• Create transparency on our project priorities and delivery schedules through regular communication across multiple channels.
• Identify, highlight and drive resolution of resource conflicts arising through project priority life cycles and work with executive management to resolve
• Drive continuous improvement in our governance processes by soliciting feedback from stakeholders, running problem solving sessions, and taking a test-and-learn approach to prioritization meetings and artifacts.
Leadership and Talent Management
• Motivate the global project management team through proactive performance management, clear accountability, and on-going measurement against goals
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to the team for career growth
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Finance is preferred. MBA is strongly desired.
• PMP and/or CSM certification strongly desired.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Highly effective facilitation, presentation, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
What will make you stand out:
• 10+ years related work experience within a related software industry and/or financial services.
• Experience working for/with SME and mid-market clients essential
• Experience working for a Tier 1 Financial institution and / or FinTech software provider preferred
• Experience working with stakeholders across multiple regions/geographies
