Position Summary
Responsible for the management of the PMO function. This role will define the strategy and determine relevant KPI's for measurement. This role serves as a main point of contact with other cross-functional business leaders for all mobile R&D project planning. Directs activities that fully impact a work unit within a function or business unit or sub-function within the organization. Provides short to medium-term tactical direction and operational oversight. May specify new project, processes and standards to support corporate strategies including the interpretation and application of broad policy guidelines. Leads the efficiency and effectiveness of a business or functional unit. Frequently influences the decisions made by the organization's leadership.
Manage and lead PMO function. Create the PMO strategy as it relates to MNOs Lab R&D business strategy. Serve as the main leadership point of contact for all PMO activities. Communicates and ensures that all interested teams, including executive-level personnel, are kept abreast of project schedule information, project progress, technical strategy, carrier issues, etc. that affect the PMO plan. Follow company metrics and KPIs for the department and communicate these metrics to appropriate management within SEA. Perform analysis of PMO data, and communicate to the management team expected capacity requirements. Develop and publish PMO reports weekly and monthly for management.
Work with the PMO managers to develop the Mobile and IT Project Standards guide, seeking contributions from Project Managers, QA Team, Development Team and Service Implementation Lead to ensure that the Standards meet best practice. Setup strategic projects with project managers. Organize workshops to identify areas of improvement for projects, documenting recommendations and presenting them to the Director of Investment Management. Continue to evolve the processes and templates throughout the project lifecycle Implement project standards across all projects in the portfolio. Manage communications from the PMO mailbox including regular reporting cycle requests. Prepare consolidated material from project reports for monthly review. Complete and distribute monthly portfolio level reports.
Role and Responsibilities
• Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of directly related experience is required.
• Prior experience in R&D projects and planning, scheduling is required.
• Prior management experience required. Prior senior leadership experience required.
• Experience using Microsoft PC software including extensive use of Excel spreadsheets, Word, Access.
• The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with various levels within the company and with various customer levels.
• The ability to gather data, organize, plan and prioritize multiple assignments and information.
• The ability to read, write, prepare comprehensive spreadsheets and present documents, reports, charts, materials and related information.
• Demonstrated English language competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external communications at various levels.
• Work under general supervision and guidance from manager or supervisor to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual assignments within established time frames.
• The demonstrated ability to solve problems requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned experiences.
• Work is guided by objectives and broad functional direction.
• Some analysis and judgment is required to determine appropriate courses of action.
• Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are long-term operational, tactical and strategic in nature.
