Summary/Objective
The Service and Parts Director manages the efficient operation of the service and parts departments.
Essential Functions
• Forecasts goals and objectives for the departments and strives to meet them
• Hires, trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of the service and parts department managers
• Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the service and parts departments
• Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the factory
• Directs and schedules the work of the employees in the Service and Parts Department
• Monitors the performance of the service and parts departments
• Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
• Fosters professional employee development and coordinates with department managers to determine need for advanced training
• Makes customer satisfaction a department priority, ensuring that service and parts personnel are courteous and respectful in their interaction with customers
• Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines
• Develops dealership service and parts pricing plans and recommends to dealer or general manager
• Works with parts and service managers to find ways to improve the overall profitability of the dealership
• Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service, body shop and parts operations including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal, emergency response and OSHA Right-to-Know
• Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards including recording time of arrival, departure and all breaks for self and subordinates
• Follows lawful directions from supervisors
• Follows the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
• Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
• Understands and follows all work rules and procedures
• Maintains a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy
• Attends pertinent training on request.
• Attends company meetings as required.

• Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
• Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

This position is primarily located in an office environment, with heating and air conditioning available
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Works evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or the equivalent and five year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of parts and service experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent; and five to seven-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3-5 years' parts and service experience.
