Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for partnering with domestic and international client group(s) to identify key human resources issues, outlines strategic alternatives and recommends action plans to executives and their leadership team in order to improve business results across our business lines and in our corporate departments. The leader will manage the HRBPs and HR Generalists and advise leaders and employees on employee relations concerns to resolve complex employee relations issues and provide interpretation and explanation of current company policies, procedures and potentially legal risks appropriately. Must be change agile, able to work on multiple priorities simultaneously and be able to influence others without direct reporting lines.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Leads respective management team in providing strategic coaching, developing and implementing effective organizational design and structures, talent and retention strategies, reward and recognition initiatives, and performance management efforts for meeting business objectives
• Contribute to the business conversation on matters that may or may not related to employees or employment
• Ensures consistency in HR approach when appropriate across Linksys, Belkin and WeMo brands as well as Shared functions (HR, Finance, Legal, IT)
• Oversee annual programs such as employee performance appraisals, merit and bonus planning, talent management, affirmative action planning, pre-hire vendors, and employee engagement survey
• Participate in bonus, compensation, job leveling and competitive market data planning, strategy and execution
• Lead the HR Business Partner and Client Support teams in:
◦ Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.
◦ Create strategic recruitment and selection plans.
◦ Create training and organizational development plans to meet personal, professional and organizational needs of company employees in the Americas and partner with other regional HR leadership to create a coordinated international plan and approach.
◦ Uphold and support Company's affirmative action initiatives and make good faith efforts to achieve affirmative action goals and timetables. Provide equal opportunity to employees and candidates.
◦ Coordinate employee transfers to other geographic regions including expatriate benefits, agreements, relocation and allowances.
◦ Organize department to act effectively in emergency situations such as handling employee illnesses and injuries, irate employees, or natural disasters.
◦ Ensuring all employee materials are accurate, appropriately filed, and delivered timely.
• Oversee vendor relationships and performance including training, recruiting, unemployment, workers compensation, immigration attorneys
• Manage team operating expenses at or under budget
• Uphold and support Company’s affirmative action initiatives and make good faith efforts to achieve affirmative action goals and timetables
• Keep current with changes in employment law, policies, and trends for states and regions in which Company operates.
• Create, revise, explain and distribute new or revised personnel policies.
• Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001, understand and fully support ISO system.
• Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
• Partner with payroll and benefits leader to address process and employees issues and mitigate risk relating to leaves of absence and payroll concerns.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• 10+ years experience in human resources, organization development, training or related talent planning field, preferably in a creative environment
• 5+ years experience in leading and developing staff professionals
• Proven ability to build, integrate, and lead effective and sustainable programs in applicable functional areas
• Flexible in style and approach to work with diverse groups of employees
• Ability to manage and thrive within ambiguity
• Experience working with Technology organizations preferred
• Demonstrates an effective consultative approach to build awareness or key organizational issues and consensus for relevant solutions
• Manage multiple priorities in dynamic, changing environment
• Understands how to lead change within dynamic environments
• Strong consulting and influencing skills; ability to think strategically
• Leverages HR metrics and business data to provide insights to the business and enable data-informed decision making
• Strong diagnostic, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and developed presentation skills with a proven ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated bias toward action, with a focus on getting things done and making things happen
• Ability to maintain a broad view of the business and deliver solutions that balance individual client and overall organization need
• Ability to proactively define and execute partnering opportunities with HR and functional (e.g., Finance) partners
