Position Title: Director Finance –Global Baby Division Financial Reporting & Analysis (FP&A)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to:CFO – Baby Division
Summary:
The Baby Division of Newell Brands is a global segment with the majority of its business in North America, with important cells in other key countries including Germany, France, Japan, China & Brazil. The Director FP&A will provide leadership to the global finance organization for the close process, performance analysis and forecasting. Additionally, this role, will provide the day to day leadership and career development for the US finance team based in Atlanta. The Director will report to the CFO for the Baby Division and will interact with and support the Executive Leadership team of the Baby Division. The candidate should be a well-organized, hands on, problem solving business partner to those leaders. The candidate must be able to deal with the complexity that is inherent in a highly matrixed organization and drive businesses issues to completion.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Lead the global close process, performance reporting and commentary cadence across regional finance teams. Communicate results to the leadership team and corporate team in an accurate and timely manner.
• Insightful analysis of monthly income statement, balance sheet and cash flow results. Analyze, validate and pressure test supplemental analytics, including sales walks and gross margin walks.
• Lead the global budgeting and forecasting process with a thorough understanding of key assumptions, risks and opportunities.
• Liase with regional teams to ensure division and corporate deliverables are met.
• Summarize and present information in an executive manner to senior leaders in the Baby Division and Newell Brands.
• Prepare global cash flow forecast for Baby division; identify and drive opportunities for improvement
• Drive standardized processes and reporting across countries and business units. Strive to reduce complexity in all areas of finance.
• Comfort and demonstrated success in issue resolution with limited supervision; determine key actions, appropriate communication and timely resolution & follow-up. Engage leadership when appropriate.
• Build effective relationships within the global Baby division, corporate team and peers in other Newell Brands segments.
• Provide direct supervision, career development and mentoring to Atlanta staff
• Oversee key reserve calculations for the US, primarily customer trade programming.
• Direct management of overhead / SG&A spending with US functional leads
• Improve US working capital performance through monitoring DSO and coordinating with Sales team and corporate teams to drive improvement.
• Lead quarterly Analytic process, a key internal control; coordinate with internal / external audit as needed.
• Periodic domestic and international travel expected.
Key Qualifications:
• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting / Finance
• 15 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance; experience in a global public company
• Possess a thorough understanding of financial statements and relationships between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment across multiple regions
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively navigate in a matrix environment
• Strong proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products
• SAP and Hyperion experience preferred
