Job Description
This individual will report to the Vice President Corporate Logistics North America. Function as a strong business leader for logistics/ production planning in the USA. Works with regional and international stakeholders and manages efficient communication. Drives performance and quality improvements. Creates a lean collaborative culture throughout our Logistics Planning organization along with coordinating and directing of business processes. Create and design the optimal appropriate material supply chain and service level to the customer. Lead your team in coordinating information between Customer, Sales and Supplying plants including leading and supporting customers and internal CIP projects. Identifies and executes process improvements and promotes use of standard processes and effective use of existing standard tools. Leads analysis of costs and budgets as well as physical and information processes, has an understanding of international supply chains. The position may be located in Summerville, SC or Farmington Hills/Plymouth, MI.
Major Duties:
• Defining strategy, targets and priorities for Logistics Planning in North America.
• Motivating, supporting, leading and developing the team.
• Exceptional Continuous Improvement Process skills areas.
• Driving cost and quality improvements for Logistics Planning in North America.
• Change management.
• Improvement and development of logistics planning processes.
• Setting annual targets and goal performance dialogs with the Leadership team
• Managing/consolidating reporting activities for the monthly business report (MBR), current forecast process (CF), target business plan (TBP) creation
• Will travel up to 40% (Domestic (90%) and International (10%)
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Logistics/Supply Chain Management with 6+ years working experience in Supply Chain Management; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Logistics/Supply Chain Management with 8+ years working experience in Supply Chain Management
• Must possess 5+ years of Leadership Experience leading 30+ Associates located remotely
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years Customer Planning experience
• 3+ years Purchasing experience
• 3+ years Production Planning experience
• Experience in Logistics Planning including warehousing, transportation and inventory planning
• Experience in end to end inventory management including production planning, frozen zone determination, in transit pipelines, on hand inventory target definition, safety stock definition as well as obsolescence and scrap avoidance
• Experience in customer release fluctuation behavior, analysis and contractual terms interpretations and negotiations.
• Strong analytical skills are needed with the ability to define priorities and strategies to fulfill the targets.
• Strong continuous improvement process mindset and problem solving skills are important.
• Thorough knowledge of Logistics Planning/Manufacturing principles
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Physical Logistics and Outsourcing experience
• Talent management: recruiting, talent review and assessment
• Exceptional collaborator and team player, candidate must be able to work with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
• Self-motivated, target oriented and organized with a strong desire to improve the business continuously.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP APO systems
• Continuous improvement process work experience
• 8D/ 5-Why Problem Solving Experience
• Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
• German language skills preferred
