Essential Functions
• Analyzes whey products including testing for moisture content, pH, bacteria, protein, and other properties as assigned
• Prepares media for bacteria analysis
• Cleans laboratory equipment and instruments
• Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
• Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
• Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
• Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
• Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Regular and timely attendance required
• Qualifications
◦ Knowledge of science (biology and chemistry) such as may be acquired through high school courses or related experience
◦ Ability to read and interpret product specifications in English Math skills including multiplication and division
◦ Capability to adjust measuring instruments and interpret results Accomplish assigned tasks with precision and accuracy
◦ Computer experience helpful, but not required High school graduate or equivalency
◦ Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements
◦ for a food manufacturing plant Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant
◦ Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
◦ Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
◦ Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
◦ Ability to read and write instructions in English Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
◦ Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
