Are You Up For The Challenge?
We are seeking a courageous individual who will challenge the status quo in our relentless pursuit of excellence in shopper marketing; delivering strong programs based on solid shopper insights and aligned with our retailer’s identified needs, showcasing clear understanding of the digital landscape, the ability to seamlessly integrate this into relevant executions and an ability to think outside of normal paradigms to achieve above average outcomes against mutually agreed KPIs. The successful candidate will lead the Shopper & Customer Marketing plan creation, execution and be responsible for managing and tracking the shopper marketing and VAS budget for the business. You will be working closely with our sales, marketing, category management and trade marketing functions to deliver superior solutions that surpass the expectations of our retail partners, surprise and delight target shoppers and ultimately influence their purchasing behaviour.
As the Director, Shopper & Customer Marketing, you will be energetic, enthusiastic, highly collaborative and able to lead and inspire a team of three dedicated Shopper Marketing Managers. You will be capable of creating and defining a vision for the department, challenging current business processes and providing insight and recommendations that will propel us towards our mandate of truly becoming best in class.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide strong thought leadership that will enhance the current shopper marketing process from insight generation to execution
• Lead and execute an RFP for shopper marketing agencies
• Lead the development of shopper marketing initiatives and campaigns based on shopper insight and strong understanding of retailer strategy working with defined budgets
• Lead agency teams to develop best in class POS (including the digital shelf) and impactful shopper facing creative
• Within the context of our annual planning process, lead the creation and execution of integrated shopper marketing campaigns
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence decision making
• Build and develop a team of passionate and engaged Shopper Marketers
REQUIREMENTS:
• +4 years of experience with shopper marketing in a fast-paced CPG company
• +2 years people management experience
• Experience working with national retailer teams
• Experience managing or working with marketing agencies
• Ability to understand the shopper and convert into meaningful campaigns & activations
• Ability to manage projects with deadlines to meet customer needs
• Must have strong business acumen to build business cases for change
• Must have a high digital awareness
