The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for managing all issues associated with the following activities in all of Olympus Scientific Solutions of America's US Manufacturing facilities. This includes: Manufacturing Production of instruments, transducers, and machine shop, Quality Control (Supplier and Internal), Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Inventory Planning & Control, and Production Engineering. The incumbent also acts as the liaison to Commercial Operations, Finance, Product Management, Service, Sales, and Engineering on issues related to cost, customer satisfaction, and product quality. He/She will serve as the liaison to Tokyo regarding issues of manufacturing.
Job Duties:
As a Executive Director working on the U.S. Manufacturing Operations team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by leadership, collaboration and customer focus. In a typical day, you will:
• Ensure that manufactured products meet customer needs and expectations.
• Meet company goals in Waltham, Kennewick & State College offices for operational performance, including:
• Inventory Turns
• Cost of Non-Quality
• On-Time Delivery
• On-Time Receipt of Goods
• Manufacturing Cost Reduction
• 5S
• Develop and motivate a large and diverse contingent of managers and employees.
• Support supply chain initiatives including vendor evaluation, selection, and quality improvement.
• Lead efforts to achieve and maintain ISO certifications.
• Support Corporate and Local policies and processes.
• Plan/meet schedules.
• Perform all other essential duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or similar is required.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience working in a variety of roles including Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Production, Machine Shop operations and Quality Control.
• Minimum of 5 years in a management capacity working for an equipment manufacturer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working in a Lean Sigma environment and ability to apply Lean/ Six Sigma techniques.
• Proven track record of leading organizations through teamwork, collaboration and open communication.
• Functional knowledge of Commercial Operations, Production Engineering and general business processes.
• Hands-on skills and experience with Manufacturing processes, systems and tools.
• Must be a result-oriented ‘change agent’ who is an effective business system thinker.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
• Knowledge and understanding of MRP and shop floor control systems.
• Ability to use information to plan workloads and resources.
• Ability to use and analyze information in order to establish priorities.
• Project Management skills and experience.
